If you believe EA and their friends in the media. I say that as a long term FIFA player. I just think there are fundamental absences in FIFA that are always in PES such accurate momentum/inertia of players and realistic defensive positioning.

Although I always throw the "Fifa is #1" bit around a lot....it does not mean that Fifa is without problems. It simply means that they have found a way to grab the attention of the majority of footie fans....and trust me it aint no damn advertising shit.

It is a combination of a better online gaming experience (not only for some ppl like PES) for all ...a next gen engine that boasts 360 movements with impressive animations ..a better collision system (well almost).

Inertia is not present at all in PES ...be clear of that. NO momentum either ....run fast shoot hard ..thats it. hardly any back passes needed.

PES 2013 has some improvements but it seems pretty arcadish. Passes are way too easy .....shooting is even easier. How can anyone not score at least 5 goals in this game....even from half line i can score ...
My shooting percentage is always above 80%....even if i dont score it goes on point to the keeper ...he better fucking save it too since they are all freaking rockets....Wwooooooooo:w00t

Well ....not really

Next!!!!:dancer:

I really enjoyed my experience with the demo. I wasn't planning on getting a football game this year but I never seem to able to help myself.

I noticed that the seem to have fixed the rubber-banding player speed problem were the defender always manages to catch the attacker no matter their speed stats. It was great getting a fast player like Walcott into the clear and not have the defender somehow catching up like in some mario kart game :)

This could have been legit and true until:

Trust me on this one. Marketing and strategies are the reason for over 75% of the selling. The rest is split into other things, but marketing is where the selling mostly happens.

That was true until pes 13 introduced the R2 slow dribble that actually works unlike the gimmicky feature in pes 12. However, I agree that the transition between instant stop and acceleration to full speed is poorly done in Pes. No arguments can b said against that. Mostly the animation are to blame for this.

However, you cannot say that back passes aren't needed without looking at the competitor. The thing is that Pes needs to actually improve pressure and it needs a better pressure system where teams like Juve (who play with pressuring forwards) can actually pressure easier on the front and can have more success.

My brother played Fifa 12 right after I was playing Pes 13 and to be extremely honest, Fifa 12 is way faster than Pes 13 and you can pull off instant passes and 1-2's with anyone and any team with the greatest of ease. So both games have passing problems.

Shooting in pes 13 is not far from real life. However, it needs 1 thing. Pressure doesn't effect shooting that much. It needs more effect and sometimes, the ball is hit too hard. What I mean is that there are situations where it wouldn't be possible to shoot like that in real life with that amount of power. So yeah, it needs toning down but ONLY IN CERTAIN MOMENTS, because in other situations, shooing is actually well done. OH AND THE POWER BAR NEEDS TO RISE UP SLOWER.

WTF Shaun....

You are supposed to say Fifa is shit and I supposed to say PES is shit.

What's with this analysis shit bro?

...but i have to agree with you though

Fifa does play faster than PES and there is some more work to be done on the shooting in PES 2013. I like the R2 turns so far ...but my main gripe is with the overpowered shooting even under pressure from an opponent.

Hopefully they will tweak only some minor settings to get the balance we need.

peace

PS Fifa does not need advertising as much anymore ....they have a huge fan base that will buy the product no matter what. Without a single ad...they still can outsell PES

New pes 2013 trailer is available here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXG8L3TzvF4 , they have also revealed that there is going to be 35 club teams and 6 national teams in demo 2 and I think that they have already improved commentary for the new game!
Konami also confirmed that release date for pes2013 is going to be in September!

Had to laugh at that.

A penalty that wasn't a Penalty in a advertisement trailer.........LOL.

Will the second demo have commentary ? Playing a footy game without it just isn't the same.

Didn't they just say that there'll be 35 clubs and 6 internationals in the code at gamescom? They haven't said anything about the demo yet

I've found a system that has pretty much eliminated AI wonder through balls. I've changed all my sliders to 5, bar pressure which I set to 7 and set my Change Atk/Def levels to defensive.

I'm using 5-3-2 with a Sweeper. Its actually the old Sao Paulo formation from PES6, the full backs are pushed to the half way line with a compact 3 man midfield and two forwards pushed back.

I'm obviously susceptible to through balls down the wings but hard to breakdown through the middle. As soon as I lose the ball my team gets behind the ball. I'm actually finding it easier to create chances as well playing this way.

The one thing I've noticed playing with two centre backs and a sweeper is that I can still play offside without my fullbacks playing the forwards onside. In a 4-4-2 I noticed the real issue with through balls, wasn't just me rushing to squeeze play, it was that my full backs that seemed to have no positional sense. With my fullbacks now more or less wing backs and pushed so far forward my centrebacks mark the space more intelligently and its easier to play offside.

I appreciate it won't be to everyone's taste, but playing defensive works. Although I'd call it more of a tiki taka defensive strategy as I'm playing as Internacional of Porto Allegre.

Will give that a try later and see how it fairs.

I have to say this because it needs to be said. I have been playing on professional level and it was and still is a very enjoyable experience, but what happened when I switched it to Top Player? Huge AI cheating issues like scoring every opportunity, 1 mistake on your part = a goal always, they outrun you and stupid stuff like that. Now this doesn't happen everytime TBH, but when it does, it's extremely annoying and this never happens on professional level.

I will try superstar and see if that's different. But Top player can sometimes be an extreme cheat fest.

I find Superstar more enjoyable than Top Player. I played a few games yesterday on Top Player, lost 2 won 1, maybe its just me but I don't find the AI steam rollers you on Superstar as it does on Top Player.

I started out on superstar, and was winning easily (prob because the ai high pressure rushed me into attacking sooner, rather than just playin possession).

On top player I don't find it nearly as easy to win (and I do think those cheat moments are much more blatant here than on other difficulties)

On professional I've definitely lost more than I've won lol (less pressure + 5min prob + messing around with button layout not helping) These games have been more fun for me tho.

From what I gather demo 1 isn't about showcasing the difficulty settings, more about the overall feel.

Played the demo with England a few times, I like it, the game feels solid and the passing system has deffo improve along with the shooting, so far looks and feels good, let's see what the final bulid plays like.

Only being able to play 5 minute matches is off putting though, or at least it wouldn't be if you could save your tactics/strategies so you didn't need to setup them up each time you go into a friendly.

Didn't you do the same thing with PES12 when it came out?

A CMF placed behind the 4 man line as a "Sweeper".

It's much better with more than 5 minutes, less pressure to score, more enjoyable in more relaxed possession. This unlocks all settings, but if you've got another patch for the demo aswell it will freeze (I find).

Played a few on Professional, seemed nice, well paced. Switched to Top Player, all the old PESisms came out. Rubbish keepers spilling balls everywhere, players completely missing easy 50-50s, infinite pathetic mistakes, untouchable AI dribbling, stat-defying catch up, et cetera. Haven't tried Superstar, but if it's better, wtf did they screw up with Top Player?

I guess this answers some questions. Jon said that announcement of demo 2 is coming real soon ,so will have to wait but if they are playing at gamescom santos vs bayern , my guess is that this year we will be able to use south american teams in all matches , not only copa libertadores like last year, good news for south america football fans.
@abu97 : my fault mate about 35 teams in demo 2 , I miss understood the news from gamescom ,sorry for that.
