I am not sure, I cannot see a problem with doing that.
I would back up your data you have on now and then delete it on the PS3, copy the new data onto the PS3 and run the game.
Then check you have the stat changes, either by playing a game or looking at the stats of players to see if the Menality, Teamwork and Aggression of most players seems raised. In the default option file, most players at small teams will have these set in the mid 60's, on my file, the lowest players will have these set around the mid 70's.

Hey man this option file is really good! You have done well to make the play really harder and more realistic!
Next step to make the updates in terms of ading players, such January transfer and stuff, but yeh it's really good! They do close down more quickly.
Berbatov in my opinion is faster in terms of Top Speed, maybe normal in dribbling speed. Looking forward to the next update.

I will try to maybe get another version done with January transfers in and take a look at any players that people think need tweaked.
No changes to goalkeepers. You generally get less chances in games as your players are closed down faster and the defences are smarter, so I didn't want to make it too low scoring.
If people try the file and majority want improved keepers, it might be put in, in any future release.
Do you have the 1.2 konami update installed and are you using the european version of the game?
If you PS3 is connected to the internet, you will have received a message that there was an update available.

Because this is the most important stat when trying to make fast forwards dribble and run away from slower defenders.
The top speed stat only really applies without the ball.

Dribble speed dictates how fast a player turns with the ball, this was largley untouched in the game, apart from a handfull of forwards who became too good when their response, agility and top speed had been increased.
Top speed does effect players with the ball if they are running in a stright line. As they start to run, their acceleration stat is used and then the top speed stat.
I have done quite a bit with the acceleration and top speed of players in this game and in a lot of previous versions of the program in order that players stay ahead of defenders and would normally use acceleration and top speed to do it.
When you try the OF, you will hopefully see this working.

Man, I am playing this all day yesterday and damn, it's brilliant!! Flippin brilliant, I am loving how they close you down! And how faster the defenders are, you did an excellent job. I think you should go work for Konami next year!

i played two games yesterday and the first one was stunning i played as NETHERLANDS against ARGENTINA and argentina played like argentina.
RIQUELME was making great passes and MESSI and TEVEZ were beating my defenders with a lot of effort i lost 3-2 but enjoyed it.
later i played ARSENAL against CHELSEA and that wasn't what i expected because i crushed CHELSEA 5-1 and it seemed their defence and midfield didn't exist.
I agree that ARSENAL was underrated in the game but they are now too strong or CHELSEA is to weak or i just got lucky so i will be checking your option file out some more later on but i just thought i'd give u some feedback it's 50-50 for me at the moment .

I have had some brilliant games using the nation teams, I set up a cup with Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Holland, France, Italy, Czech Rep, Spain and played as England and loved it, playing it a few times and never winning it and just getting beaten.
Are you playing the game on Top Player?
I will have a look at Chelsea, I obviously didnt have time to check each team against each other, but all of the major teams have been tested quite a lot.
Try playing with Arsenal against other big teams like Man Utd, Juventus, Milan, Inter, Barca and Real and see if its equally as easy. I can honestly say that in testing no one was able to score that many against a top team on top player.
I welcome all feedback like this as it will help make the game better.
I'm not sure your interpretation of dribble speed is correct, over on the PES Stats Database it's described as "How quickly a player can move with the ball at his feet". There's a number of threads, here's one...

However the dribble speed stat on it's own doesn't determine how fast a player can move/run with the ball, but it works inconjuction with top speed.
The Dribble speed stat value is like a percentage of the top speed stat, therefore a player with a high top speed of 95 and a dribble speed of 80means the player can run with the ball at 80% of the top speed stat.
Still with me......
This could be worked out as a value, 80% (dribble speed) of 95 Top speed is 76.
e.g
Player A has a Top speed of 95 and Dribble speed of 80 = 76
Player B has a top speed of 90 and a Dribble speed of 90 = 81
Player B will be faster running with the ball than Player A.
Speed of turning with the ball and how many touches a player takes is mainly down to dribble accuracy as well as agility and technique.
