im talking about the player's model, theyre body shape. and the glossy look reflected from the screen of the tele, reminds me of pes2008 as a matter of fact it reminds me of pes6 on the xbox360 a bit too.

I partly agree with you and with Jimmy G-Force from evo-web,

I get the impression that a lot of people just want FIFA10 with PES10 graphics, at least that's what their comments reflect, as they clearly think FIFA10 is near perfection.

For my part, I just do not see the cleverness of having all this control over passing and crossing the ball when the game itself is an INSUBSTANTIAL goal scoring fest. I do not see any real revolution in FIFA10, just a few manual attachments to the same old ping-pong formula.

PES10 on the other hand, in my opinion, it's more or less identical to FIFA10. I can play both PES10 or FIFA10 without a problem, it's more or less the same identical ping-pong concept...

Although as you mentioned, the player individuality still stands out in PES; but to be honest, the player individuality of PES has not improved that much over the last 4 or 5 years. In my opinion, PES did not evolved correctly.

I mean, I was not trying to defend PES, I was just saying that I'm bored of all these FIFA fans who think their opinion amounts to a FACT: they speak about things, and I just don't see why the things they talk about will make such a great difference.

Take Dopecoil for example, this guy has a good understanding on certain things and regularly leaves comments in the PESGaming home page. However, he has a thing with FIFA and I just don't see the genius of it.

Dopecoil: ''we still have automated crossing mechanics, automated goal kicks, automated heading mechanics and to top it all off, a accentric over elaborate defensive system that know one actually requested as well as a complete dumbing down of the trick system to appeal to casuals.”

If the crossing mechanics were not automated, if heading mechanics were not automated, would this be a big improvement?

It's the same INSUBSTANCIAL ping-pong game at its core... if I have full manual control over crossing or heading the ball, the game will be same old shit at its core, pure and simple.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Dopecoil:

''Looks and sounds promising but i still get the overiding feeling that pes2011 much like the last three years will be undercooked.

Sure its a improvement but one full of alot of the niggles that should of been corrected by now considering how loudly they have been trumpeted by the community and the competitions game doesnt have any of these.

I fear pes2011 just isnt going to be enough against eas very strong and improved offering this year, and yet again we have more freedom in some areas but the same automations and limitations in others.

I got burned with both pes2010 and blue samuri as there both vastly inferior to both fifa10 and FWC interms of gameplay and completeness, because despite fifa10 and FWC still lacking a quality replay system and horrible player likenesses they,ea,have pretty much nailed the huge amount of variation you get in real football and despite the odd glitch,at least the players move and react to the ball freely and you can manually cross and spot a ball amongst a raft of over small little touches that just shine through in there game.

Its funny a year ago i wouldnt of even considered a ea footie game but now its konami for me that have every thing to prove.

Has pes2011 got to be near perfect, yes, let us not forget ea have a almost technically faultless engine that with personality plus and pro passing is going to be taken to another level bringing with it all the subtleties and nuances that already exist in fifa10 and FWC along with a very arresting animation system that looks gorgeous even against pes2011 and is only going to improve further.

Lots of hype, lots of promise but yet again i dont think pes2011 is going to be quite the sum of its parts, konami are playing catch up and they havent got the resources or staff now to compete or catch ea.

The tables have turned and its now ea who are setting the benchmark while konami are still unable to deliver a game that is anything but half finished with the same fundamental promblems at its core.''
-------------------------------------------------------------------

So, FIFA10 was not undercooked? FIFA10 does not have automations and limitations in some areas? I just do not see the logic in criticizing Konami for something that EA Sports also does with FIFA.

Although he clearly has a good understanding on certain things, I think that Dopecoil just wants what he wants, he just wants an insubstantial video game with manual gimmicks attached to the 15 year old ping-pong formula so that it feels like everything is under your control; in other words, he just wants the gameplay of FIFA10 with PES10 graphics.

I have no problem with that; however I do have a problem when he and other people start talking and preaching about their opinion as if it was a FACT... that's just kind of redundant, even more so considering the obvious flaws that both PES and FIFA have in common.

So what, manual crossing and manual goal kicks and manual heading, will it make much of a difference? they are talking about trivial and redundant things that will only make PES more and more similar to FIFA, we don't really need FIFA Part II.

i think the main thing that still is present in PES and why you still can call it a simulation is the individuality which is very much non existant in FIFA.
the true feeling that you are participating in a football match has yet to be captured by FIFA but that's if you ask me.

I like the looks of things in the new gameplay vids but once again it's ruined by 2 shit jackasses who had the sprint button taped down and showed zero vision for nice passes. It would be nice to see a couple of decent players go at it in these vids for once who'd be able to showcase more areas of gameplay instead of just sprinting up and down the pitch.

^Let's hope that the defence system is sorted and finally we can all prevail on those who abuse of the R1 button. ;)
BTW, I saw some gamescom videos on youtube if someone wants to check them out and they were with high level teams like Inter and Real.

I always hoped pes was gonna make a comeback. There were those who doubted. Those who critizise everything, but like it or not, pes is coming back the strongest its been in almost 5 years. Can we say the same for fifa? will they ever reach the heights of fifa 99, or fifa 2003 ever again? not unless they go on a total overhall. It looks like Pes is getting ready to take its crown back

No we cannot say the same for FIFA. It has spent the last 3 years improving!

Regardless, this is no time for another PES v FIFA debate. Especially as you seem to think 2003 was a good year  Too much is being made of the footage released so far. Too much will no doubt be made of the demo.

Lets see how it turns out once it's on general release & we've all had time to pick holes in the gameplay...
