I'm unsure to be honest. Surely you just mentioning Twilight means that subconsciously, you know that this is a cash in on how popular the vampire thing has gotten??

I disagree entirely. Daggerfall had vampires back in 1996, I haven't checked but it is entirely possible that Arena had them too. Vampires were already part of Skyrim but for some reason, they only gave werewolves a central place which I thought was wrong.

The mention of Twilight was simply because the general public immediately think of it if you say the word 'vampire'.

Of all the new areas they could have opened and explored, all the lore that they have at their disposal, all the things that are hinted on in the game (especially the Falmer thing) and they go with vampires, which is coincidentally, one of the most popular 'things' around at the moment? Hmmmm.

There are going to be at least two add-ons and this is just the first one. Why do the Falmer thing now? Better to wait a year or two.

Obviously vampires will always be a part of fantasy, and i'm not arguing against it directly, i'm just saying that I think they're trying to use it as a bit of a cash cow, when there were countless other opportunities to take advantage of.

Fucking Vampires.

Dawnguard is here :excited:

Just downloaded it. Unfortunately, someone decided today would also be a good day to have Spain play Portugal in a european quarter final.

I hate making choices...

I've noticed I'm becoming more and more evil as time goes on. I was a bit of a do-gooder at the start, but I think I've been corrupted by greed and the stress of expectation of being the Dragonborn.
I've killed under the command of the Dark Brotherhood, and at request of the Daedric lords, I even had my first taste of human flesh yesterday. I'm heading down a slippery path. I still try to be good on the whole, but the chance of gaining more power/coin is getting ever-more tempting.

But then I can forget all these troubles and play some Skyrim. :joel:

Completed the main Dawnguard story for both the Dawnguard and Vampire route. Can only say that it has to be some of the best DLC I've come across.

Still have some of the side missions to complete...

Not that impressed by the crossbow. Claims to be a big hitter, but I have bows that are much better & have a better range. Some decent gear in the DLC though...

140 hours of playtime.... only just realised that you can hold 'x' to pick up objects.

Oh Ali, you never fail to impress :D

I've now reached a point where it's pretty much just the never ending repeat tasks (like the nightmother ones). Really need another injection of DLC to kick it up a notch.

Not seen anything on future DLC, but they better bloody hurry up!!

Skyrim sounds like an interesting game but the length of the game is what worries me the most.

I thought Mass Effect 3 was fine at 46 hours after completing all the missions + side missions, but 140 hours in for Skyrim? Wow.

Dedication is what you need Vip :D

Problem is, is that it's one of those games that draws you in and sucks hours of your life away before you've even realised.

If I am correct in thinking that the game time is listed under the character name, race & level, then my main save is in at a shade under 207 hours :shocking:

From memory, they said that the main quest was 30-40 hours, but with lot's of fast travelling, skipping the conversations and ignoring all side quests, I guess 20?

Problem is, there is so much to do and see it's too bloody easy to just end up rummaging around to see what you can find.

It's sooooooooooooo worth it though.

I've done just over 150 hours and am still yet to start the DLC. As far as getting your moneys worth goes, there's not much of a better bet.

Has anyone a pc strong enough to deal with the insane amounts of mods released for PC..... I'm tempted to trade in my shitty laptop for a computer strong enough to take full advantage. Check out these pics they look epic.

Theres a whole array of mods from what I hear some with added content.

There are mod development tools available from the official website (PC only, obviously). have to give Bethesda their due, they love to help the community and therefore the longevity. Not that the game isn't long enough already!

Well, it was never particularly obvious. In Fallout it used to be R3.

I do as its the platform I use for gaming 99% of the time - the PS3 is used exclusively for Pro Clubs on FIFA.

Some of the mods are breathtaking.
