Bump!

Just played the demo off this tonight on the PS3 and it felt a lot different to the x box version in terms of the weight and feel behind the punches and kicks. Is it like this or am I dreaming?

Question: On the PS3 how do you posture up from full mount? It done my head in.

Shes handling alot better than 2009 I reckon, I played the demo on the 360 and the game's moves look good but are harder to do... For me anyway. Going up town later to lift my copy of the game so If anyones online after 9pm tonight, bring it.

EDIT: I hope Irish is a nationality in career mode!

dundons half turn on the right stick (check the pause menu (action list) for which way), then putting back on the left stick once your head not being held any more.

loving the demo the only thing that is killing it for me is the lack of KO falls, its nearly all ways that fall to the side.

Yup. I still suck though. Never really played 2009. So it's like I'm really starting now.

I've moved on to Advanced level now.

Im useless aswell, there was a stage on 2009 I was quite good knocking out greats like Dragonfly, Hunter, Cali and the likes but now Im like Alex Reid.

How is this then? I loved 2009 at first but it got repetitive fairly fast. Is their more variety in this one? And how detailed is the create-a-fighter mode? Can you give them huge guts, long hair, etc?

Ive got mines, been workin till three when I was told that I could leave three hours early. Im excited about this game but have to eat first then stick in the game.

Aslong as my create-a-fighter can be Irish this time, Im happy.

I think you can. I've seen screenshots of players with long hari, even dreads.

I'll be going down to Game tomorrow and trade some games for it.

Jesus its much harder online! And offline come to think of it. Everything Ive learned about grapples, ground transitions and submissions seems to have gone out the window!

And is it just me or is it seriously hard to keep your career fighters stats up?

You're right about grapples, ground transitions and submissions, Charlie. It just seems random at the moment, but it took me ages to master the timing (flicking the R stick), so I hope it's just a matter of time again. Also, does the gameplay feel faster than before to anyone else?

I started on Experienced level, which I find quite easy. After a few fights, I decided to go up one level to Advanced, but it's one hell of a step up. It feels much tougher than Expert level in UFC 2009. Again, I just hope it's only a matter of time before I get used to it and improve.

I haven't started Career Mode yet, but creating a player appears to be much more expansive, so I'm hoping Career Mode's improvements are as impressive.

It seems Pretty much the same as the 2009 game, just cleaned up graphics, refreshed roster etc.
probably will still get it but not exactly overwhelmed with the change.

In career, for me, is hard to keep all my stats up before they decay, but I suppose when I get a regime going it wont be so bad. If anyone has tips, please let me know, thanks.

Absolutely in love with this game. Rarely do I play a game non-stop, and it's been years since I've played a game for hours on end by myself, but I can do that with this game. The thing that strikes me most is that it is nothing like UFC 2009. It has the same foundation, but everything is not only cleaned up, but incredibly more in-depth from the actual fighting with almost limitless possibilities, to the create-a-fighter, to the career being more in-depth, tactful and complex.

So how is everyone's career mode going then?

I'm myself (obviously), and I've spent quite a bit of time editing him, from appearance, to apparel. I think once I been through a few bloody wars, I'll be adding a few scars on his face as a memory of where he was cut, and who by. :) Adds that nice touch.

I'm a Welterweight, wanted to make it as close to realistic as possible again, so I'm 170 pounds (which is about 12 stone I believe), and 5'11". Not only is the Welterweight division incredibly tough, once I do reach the top (eventually, if at all), and I receive an offer to step up divisions, then I've got the Middleweight division to contend with, also a very solid challenge so overall it's difficult but that's the beauty of it. Now that I'm getting my head around the stats system, training and gameplan, it should all fall into place soon enough - once I can build my core stats up that is (Strength, Speed, Cardio).

Got this today. Its pretty fun tbh except im terrible at it. First time ive played a UFC game (apart from the demos) and ive just jumped into career mode.

Im shit at the grappling on the floor, trying to lock in submissions etc. Anyone got any tips?

The ground game, like in 2009, is the toughest aspect of the game. It took me ages to be decent at it in the last game and it looks to be the same this time round. I'm getting better at ground grappling defence and I'm close on reversals. However, I am nowhere near to getting a submission.

I'm clearly a striker, so I need to improve take down, grappling and clinch defence.

My Career guy is so shit. As soon as i get down to the ground i know ive lost. Within seconds of being in a submission he taps out. Ive lost two fights in a row by tapout which is really annoying.
