Streets of Rage II > Golden Axe
That depends on whether you prefer kicking and punching, or swinging a sword and calling on the powers of Nature to crush your enemies.

I used to pick the girl just so i could unleash the dragon on the baddies.
Gold Axe was absolutely class, one of my favourite childhood games.
Two player mode was endless fun. It truly is a classic.

(Can only find the GameCube box art :|)

I had it on the Game Cube and absolutely loved it. The career mode was a lot of fun.

I haven't seen one review that gave it anything more than very mildly positive reviews, but my God I loved it. Technically it wasn't very good, but I really got the idea that I was doing something that mattered, I've played it time and time again and I always get that space-vibe. The soundtrack of course being brilliant, and the voice-overs were aunthentic, it really helped. I had that same thing with Beyond Good & Evil, being part of a bigger thing.

As far as Star Wars games go though, none have come close to Knights of The Old Republic I & II. I heard they are making a multiplayer Star Wars thing, but that's not what I want damn it. Though Mass Effect, a very similiar game, was brilliant too.

One of my first games on the PS2.

Excellent shout! Shadow of Memories was an epic game. I loved it. It was a tad short, but it had replayability on its side, and was extremely interesting, and enjoyable.

Other notable mentions thus far that I'd back up are; Destruction Derby 1 & 2, Syphon Filter 1 & 2 (easily on par with Metal Gear Solid), World's Scariest Police Chases, Driver 1 & 2 (far superior to the GTA games of the time), and Shadow of the Colossus.

To add a few of my own.

'Battletoads', what a great game. I don't if someone mentioned, but this game was fantastic for me.
