1. Unzip file using Winzip or Winrar
2. Copy 'PS3' folder to your flashdrive
3. Insert flashdrive into PS3. Go to 'Saved Data Utility'. Now click 'USB Device'
4. Copy ALL files from flash drive to PS3

For chants:

1. Copy MUSIC folder to flash drive.
2. Go to music on PS3 and select USB device
3. Copy all chants over
4. Create a playlist entitled KONAMI_PES
5. Add all chants to playlist
6. Enter game, go to edit mode, edit team and cheering stance. You should find your chants here

Hello,

I tryied to install the Von OF in my PS3 and it shows up a message saying " the edit data is from a diferent version".

I Have the european PS3 and The European PES 2009, with the 1.2 version. What should i do to install correctly th OF?? Can you Help me??

i have downloaded it transfered all the pics n faces n chants
all is workin until i load it up and it says its from a different version

is this because i am an offline gamer and do not have the november update
if yes how can i get this update

btw its version 6 the OF

I am a newbie here and I have patiently scanned through the 132 pages of this forum because I encountered the same problem as u guyz: Data failed to load because its from different version. Pls download content...

Like everybody else, I copied the files painstakingly one by one only to realise this and in my fear of corrupting the system data, I had to clear the files one by one again. Torture. It was only two days ago that I finally solved the mystery.

What everybody who tried to help stated were correct except that perhapps its not so clear. Let me try my best to put it in an orderly manner for those who still did not manage to crack the mystery behind.

1) Download version 1.06 and unzip using rar.
2) The unzipped file should have 2 folders: PS3 and MUSIC
3) Copy both foilders into USB flashdrive
4) Switch on PS3 and your internet connection and load PES2009 Disc
5) If its the first time, system will prompt you to download a patch [This is not the v1.2 patch that everybody is talking about here]
6) After downloading it will auto install
7) Now go into PES2009 system settings and search for 'DOWNLOAD' option
8) This is where most people encounter problems. Make sure your internet connection is on and click download. IMPORTANT NOTE: You must first register on playstation network in order to download. There will be an error message prompting you to sign in to playstation network if you have not registered or sign in yet.
9) Once you have registered, you will be able to donwload this Konami v1.2 patch. There will be a message stating that 4 more Spnaish teams are being licensed etc. Install the file after download.
10) Another crucial turning point here. System will promt you to save edit data or overwrite existing edit data (if you have any). Click NO.
11) Now quit the game and plug in your flash drive.
12) Go to 'Games' - 'Saved Game Utility' - 'USB Drive'
13) Press triangle and search for the copy option and click copy
14) You have to do this for all the files one by one. 200+ if I am not wrong.
15) When you have done that, restart your PES2009. When edit data loads, there should be no more error message. Just to do a quick check on whether you have installed the official patch, ensure that Bischoff is in Arsenal or Rafael and Fabio are in Man Utd.
16) Go to 'EDIT' and 'LOAD DATA'. Load up the newly acquired data (Von option files) and SAVE the data in EDIT mode. Tata...!
17) For MUSIC file, go to 'Music' and create playlist: KONAMI_PES. Ensure no spacing at the end. Using the triangle method, copy all chants one by one into the newly created playlist.
18) Go to PES2009 EDIT mode, choose any of the BPL teams, Rangers, Celtic or England and go to cheering stance. Load data from MP3 Files and select the appropriate chant...Tata...!

Ok. Classic players aren't named properly. Am I the only one going through this? I am pretty sure "Palm" is Pele and Beckenbauer is named something funny like Bahrungauna or something. Lots of other misnamed classic players...

ps: actually nevermind.... i recopied all the files and for some reason the classic players were named properly. I really don't get it but whatever...

Hello all, I now also have this problem - says the data is from a different version.
I cant connect to the internet via my PS3, i have mobile broadband for my laptop. So I drop the data onto a USB and copy it over. How do I fix this problem??? I have downloaded v 6.

Please excuse me for my ignorance. I just bought a PS3 a few days ago and really excited about downloading this option file. However I have a simple question before I start the procedure.

Do I need to download all the previous versions or just download the latest version and that should contain all the latest kits/transfers etc. If so is this link I download from;

Just download option 6....but i too have got a PS3 a few days ago and am having problems updating it as I cant connect my PS3 to the internet, so just to warn you before you start, you have to copy over at least 100-150 separate files and is does take a while.....although it really does look worth it!

Well its taken me 2 hours - but for anyone having a problem updating PES via USB i have found this on another forum.....

So far no bro there isn't! I actually emailed Konami last yer on the possibility of making a patch for PES2008 downloadable via PC/USB, but they said thats not possible.


To me it seems you can't update PES2009 unless your PS3 is connected to internet.

If you got the message with error loading file failed. it only means the edit data file differs from the original one.
The only thing you needed to do is remove the edit data file on your ps3 and copy the edit data file from Von option file again.
There was no need to remove all the 200+ files again. This is also stated in the start post, with font size 20+ and in bold.
Just letting you know :p

ok guys I'm about to load the option file....Please tell me if I'm doing it right...

First of all I haven't set up a internet connection on the PS3 so will be doing this the long way - let me know if I'm talking bull.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

1. I have downloaded the latest verson from filefront. This link:

2. I have unzipped the file and now have the following folders;
von opton file 1.06 which contains two sub folders - MUSIC and PS3. MUSIC has the chants and PS3 has several files.

3. On my flash drive I have created the follwing - PS3/SAVEDATA

4. Now what do I copy in the PS3/SAVEDATA location. The whole Von Option folder or just one of sub folders i.e. MUSIC or PS3 or...

5. Do I just copy over all the files in the MUSIC and/or PS3 folders?

OR AM I BETTER OFF IGNORING POINTS 3, 4 AND 5 AND JUST COPY THE 'PS3' FOLDER ONTO THE FLASH DRIVE?


Please advice as I don't want to spend transferring files from the USB to the PS3 and then find out I've done it wrong. Thanks in advance to all.
