Just those 3, plus Rivelino is the player in Classic Brazil. The L1-elastico seems 'closer', the R2-elatico is a bit faster and I think the player pushes the ball a bit further ahead.

I just got started in ML. I've noticed that the BGM of the ML menu is the song/tune from PES2 Highlight Show but remixed into more of a trance/techno mix. Very nice tune IMO. I'm in a football frenzy when I play ML because of that song.

I live in Japan and can beat all my mates pretty easily, but once I got online I was absolutely amazed at how good some of these guys are. I mean, I can beat 6 stars consistently, but some of these guys were just toying with me and administering 5 and 6 nil beatings.

Also, do you guys use the "in game tactics"? (L2 plus X, O, Square, or Triangle to change tactics in game.) I've never had much luck with these but I noticed a lot of the good players online use these all the time, and to great effect.

Anyway if anyone is online and wants to play someone who's not as good as he thought he was, my player name is "Muttly". Search me out and text me.

I was wrong. They're the same as PES4. They just seem to work better and don't give the ball away to the opposition in this one.

As far as I know, you can't give it to someone else. You'll have to edit one of those players to become someone else if you want them to do it.

I think the classic dude is Rivelinho of Classic Brazil.

sometimes when i tap R1/L1 3x it still only does a stepover, or sometimes it doesnt execute the trick properly

they cant make it perfect dude or u could use it all the time...

this version is awesome

i see a lot of people saying its harder but im finding it easier. my defence always sucked but now they have levelled the playing field I am defending much better, also the easier volleys rule and of course the flip flap. I think the trap through system was much needed, takes half of the frustration out of the game.

still having a bit of trouble with the new shooting system, i had pretty much perfected WE8 and WE8I for shooting but now I find a lot of my players missing or shooting it low most of the time.

can someone answer me this, if say im running left to right, do i press up or left to aim at the left of the goal?

Superb game.

The speed has been slowed down to perfection. No more cheetah-esque players. They have also added new animations that do actually make a difference, this time when you hack a player down, they actually go flying instead of spinning 360 in slow motion. Players also pressure for the ball with some effort, they even do slide-blocks with :x: in desperation to regain it.
Shots have been improved immensely, no more shots straight to the keepers arms, if you know how to shoot properly you can force the keeper to dive.
The CPU has also been improved in order to give human players more of a challenge, and please do not ever concede a freekick near your area against a CPU with good takers, you'll get punish as they now get freekicks on target 90% of the time on 5 stars. CPU controlled teams are made more realistic too, for Real Madrid, Zidane is hard to defend against and picks out teammates with some great passes, you really feel the wrath of a Beckham set-piece too.
Individuals feel different on the ball like Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rooney etc. Also the flip-flap a.k.a elastico is a nice addition, and not too easy to pull off, you have to time it correctly in order to fool defenders and if mistreated Ronaldinho completely flops it and loses the ball.

This is the best football game ever made IMO.

I guess so mate. They have made it near perfect. Infact i've yet to find a flaw in the game.

yeh i Can agree this game has changed quite a lot compared to WE8:I, so much better....advice to anyone who has spare money lying around the house-get out and buy this!!

would be great if they released an international version of this so that the language is in English

You can get it in english already, by using Fernando's translation patch. In the File Downloads section.


The only thing I don't like about the game is that the refs don't allow any physical contact and stop the game too much for nudges.

Thanks Zyg but i dont really have a clue about patching(shame) and my DVD burner hjasnt been installed properly so I need to do that.....

I know what u mean about the refs!!! it gets on my nerves sometimes, when you're trying to catch up with someone and they have the ball, as soon as you're besyd them the ref gives a free kick

First sort out your DVD burner.

Then read the guide over here (which is for PES4 but the same applies to WE8:LE) and apply the patch from here.
It's easier than you think. Plus there are people around who will help out if you get stuck.

I'm going to set a specific ref for friendlies to see if it improves things.
Going by the guide in this thread I think I'll try Johann Jansen first and then Martin O'Brien. And see how they do.
