I like the way they all try as best as they can to look as though they're saying all that off the cuff, until The Sandman comes on and just sits there blatantly reading the script :laugh:
I'm not convinced about this game. I haven't got the last one or two games in the series, so will probably get this for the 360, but i'm not confident it'll turn out to be all that good. For years i've wanted them to include a proper edit mode, where you can make slight modifications to costumes, change them from heel to face (I know it might give you an option in Exhibition, but it'll use the default for Royal Rumbles, Season Mode etc), change the roster the Superstars appear on etc. It's all so simple, but would add a lot to the game.
So true about the Sandman 
It would be great to have those edit options in the game. They probably don't add it, because then it may not work with the storylines that they have wrote for season. Hopefully one game they'll be able to implement that option.
I'm hoping that the fighting styles will give the game something unique. Like for once when you're using Mysterio, you will actually feel like you are using a high flier, you may actually feel like your using a hardcore wrestler when being Foley, rather than just having a normal character with a weapon in hand.
They are quite a few tournament options in the game - King Of The Ring (if you win you get to chose a queen), Beat the clock sprint - and you can also create your own tournaments.
And this 24/7 mode is a completely revamped season mode, where it seems it will take you longer than just the normal year to complete it.
So I just hope with a few new modes, a change in the actual wrestling side of the game, can make this new Smackdown one of the bests. But it would be typical of it to be one huge let down.

The varying fighting styles are a great addition, but i'm sure they'll inevitably fuck it up by giving some superstars the wrong fighting style. For starters, we already know Triple H is a powerhouse, which is just ridiculous. It's not going to be very realistic having Batista launch Mark Henry up in the air when being pinned, let alone Triple H!?
Again, with a simple edit mode, we should be able to change their style, although it shouldn't prove too difficult for them to get it right in the first place.

My opinion of the game has gone worse and worse ever since they announced the pathetic roster. Don't think I'll be buying it, just as well as there'll be enough awesome games for me to get over the next few months. My mate will end up getting it, so I'll just nip over there to play it occassionally.

I know that the review wasn't as great as we all expected, but personally I don't listen too much to reviews as I like to rate games myself. I'll still be picking it up on Friday, and am looking forward to it.
Right, well I seem to have a lot more time on my hands then before. Also will most probably log into this forum a bit more too, when i've the free time. So anyways, as I did the sim league last year, would you lot like to see it again this year ? I could sim the matches and whatnot. I tryed to bring the old thread back to life but it seemed as though everyone lost interest, which was a shame. Also now that we can have tournament's such as "Beat The Clock Sprint" and "King of The Ring", I think this years attempt might with a bit of luck, be more succesful. Any thoughts ?*

i have got this game and had two matches and i think it is ok. the new buttons are good i like them and they are quite easy to get used to not as hard as people say. i'm not a massive wrestling fan so most of the wrestlers are new to me. but i love the fact that there is sabu and mick foley and the rock are all in the game only down side you have to unlock them. also shane and vince are in the game but you need to unlock them aswell.
this is a shit comment on the game i know i will have a full look through the game later and post on it.

There is indeed a GM mode, it's kind of combined with the 24/7 mode. You can apparently choose a superstar to invade with a rival show, and all of that. According to a few people on IGN and WEForums, you can also watch cut-scenes, one's that you have created.
Also Dan, someone over at IGN who has got the game (Again, apparently), said that you cannot use Tommy Dreamer on GM Mode. Also you draft your own rosters like previous years.
EDIT: All in favour of a sim league for this years version please say. As I can get the thread up tonight so with a bit of luck, that will get more attention come Friday and a few members would of already chosen their superstar. I could possibly also get the first show up Friday night, as I've said i've got a load of time on my hands.
