Regardless the 360 and the PS3 will basically be the same come PES7. Whether they build PES7 around PS3 hardware or 360 the only noticable diffrence will be in graphics like in almost any other multiple platform to come out. The mechanics and the A.I and the features; except for maybe online services; will basically be the same build.

Reason being is the cost to make games is increasing so much that a company would be totallly insane to build two diffrent types of games for the same title on diffrent platforms.

i agree the idea of two games on two consoles purly because the xbox aint as big as sony is nonsense, again its just people folowing the sony badge instead of realising that a brand who suck might i add dosent make a good games console.

right. so the speculation is that this demo that they're showing in Leipzig is just gonna be a slightly better looking version of WE10? hardly seems worth it...

Nope.. don't think so.. "Seabass" himself had mentioned that the 360 version will be different from the current console version.. and will be running ont the next gen graphics..

I think its fair to assume that the release cycle shall continue with Japan = April, Europe = October, America = January. This means that the first sniff of PES on the PS3 in the US will be in January 2008.

Where did you hear this?

I thought that after this year, WE will be released in Japan in August like normal.

The only reason why the release dates are different this year is because of the release of the Xbox 360 version of PES and the release of the PS3 console.

Unless I am mistaken, and I apologise if I am, I thought that WE had been released in April for the last few years. I'm not a buyer of it tho so not as informed as I could be. Either way, Japan sees the first true next-gen game, with Europe 2nd and the US unlikely to see it until 2008. That was my main point.

This is spot on and agrees with my point totally. Getting bored of Sony fanboys trying to make their console seem special.

I was keen on getting a PS3 but Sony have shot themselves in the foot over pretty much every issue. Only those with money to burn, or seriously deluded fanboys will wait for a PS3 now. Sony have put me and many people of totally. My 360 is now on order and it seems that the next few months sees the 360 coming into its own.

The Japanese version of WE has traditionally been released early August every year for the past few years. This year was an exception.

Why are the people who are waiting for the PS3 deluded? :shocking:

The Blu-ray drive in the PS3 is not something to be frowned upon you know.

Do you know about the technology behind Blu-ray discs? And do you realise how expensive a Blu-ray drive is?

If Blu-ray movies catch on like the DVD did, then isn't it money well spent?

I might've considered buying a Xbox 360 if it had some sort of dramatic leap in technology in the console. If I were Microsoft, I would've fought fire with fire and put in a HD-DVD drive in the 360.

Now that would've made it truly interesting. ;)

If anything, Microsoft are the ones who have shot themselves in the foot. By releasing the 360 a year earlier than the PS3, they've lost the opportunity to try to conjur up a strategy that would help them compete with Sony's Blu-ray technology.

Releasing the 360 in 2007 would've given Microsoft the upper hand in my opinion. I don't know about you but releasing the 360 early stinks of desperation to me.

Sony has virtually won this battle, that's for sure.

no one has won the 'battle' virtually or otherwise. blu-ray could go the way of sony's minidisc, microsoft could introduce an external add-on drive. but as long as developers support both consoles, it shouldn't really matter which one you prefer.

The Sony Minidisc wasn't designed to store movies...or games. Or am I missing something here?

You're underestimating the fact that Blu-ray will most likely become popular if the PS3 is successful. And judging from the successes of the PS1 and the PS2, the PS3 looks like it's going in the same direction.

If the PS3 does indeed become successful, then expect a sudden rush in demand for Blu-ray movies and Blu-ray writable drives and set top players.

Just my two cents.

i just brought up the minidisc as an example of a technology that sony pushed that failed to catch on, i wasn't really suggesting that blu ray would fail... i was saying that its possible. mostly i was trying to say that this kind of posturing over what system will be better is not really all that meaningful at this point. sorry for the confusion.

Not only the minidisc, Sony's betamax lost its own fight against the VHS format years ago. The first enemy of the ps3 is its price, for $200 less you get a machine almost of the same capabilities, the x360, plus, you can connect the x360 with a pc running windows xp and do a lot of different things, not only play games.

You got a point right there, they are both likely to fail anyway (Blu-ray & HD-DVD).

yes i do know the tech behind blu ray as we studied it in collage, and i folowed it a year earlier. xbox 360's new drive has blu-ray built in. and sony have shot them selvs in the foot because they have spent 3 extra months on doing what ? cus the power is better in ps3 but no one will tell or see the difference, as its only 20% more powerful roughly. im not judgeing those who will get one its just the people who say ps3 is better than 360 when it clearly wont be due to flaws and im talking big flaws like one recognition discs per console meaning when u put in ur disc thats it no one in the world will be able to use it only ur machine. and the fact that sony can not compete with xbox live plus price etc etc. and trust me xbox 360 can compete and over take ps3 in more ways than one.

The war between the Blu-ray and HD-DVD is largely based on the movie makers rather than the console.. so it doesn't matter if ps3 make an impact.. if Blu-ray lose the war, ps3 probably flop coz it doesn't support HD-DVD.. and Microsoft will be releasing an external HD-DVD drive for the 360 @ lower price den the stand alone player..

I thought the title on this thread said PES6 'racially different' from WE10.

I've now realised that's not the case.

But why pay the extra money for a HD-DVD drive?

In regards to the Blu-ray and HD-DVD war, I have a feeling that in a few years time; companies will start to produce Blu-ray/HD-DVD combo set top players anyway.

So the PS3 and Xbox 360 war may in the end just come down to which machine is more powerful graphically. And obviously which console has the better selection of games too.

Anyway, I think we'd better get back on topic. ;)

I thought I heard somewhere that Adriano was gonna be on the front cover of PES6? In fact, didn't he attend some sort of press conference and publicly declare that PES is the best game he's ever played? Or something along the lines of those words anyway.

Hope they change that Inter shirt to the new one with the white collar.

There's still time.
