Yes you get the map packs with the hardened edition, and you get it every month unlike the nomal map packs that come out ever 2-3 Months.

So I'll say get a map every month, and everyone else will have to purchase from the marketplace/psn whenever they release them as a pack?

Thats what they are saying, to be honest getting the maps early would be pretty good as u can get used to them and than destroy the people that didnt get the hardened edition once they get the map pack a month later.

Also as im on the PS3 im assuming this would make sure that xbox dont get there maps a week or 2 earlier than ps3.

Im only getting the hardened edition as its really the only game i play as for some reason i cant play 2/3 games as i like to concentrate on just 1.

Bought PES11 last year and only played it for 2 hours before going bk to COD.

Was about to go and pre-order this on Shopto. I can't believe they are trying to sell it for £49.85! Are they nuts?

Amazon are doing it for £39.90, which is cheaper than what I spent on MW2 I think.

Joel, if you can get out to the shops on the day of release just pop into Asda or Tesco. They'll do it for £40 and you're guaranteed it on the day, rather than the postal service having a mare. Or order from Tesco Entertainment; they were awesome for me although they deliver with TNT (not the dynamite) so you'll need to be home to sign for it.

I won't be getting the hardened edition; I read some small print on I think it was GAME's website that said the free DLC was for a limited time. I'm not paying and extra £35 and then have to buy a second or third map pack on top of that, too.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The Hardened includes a 1 year Elite membership, which in turn, includes all map packs etc.

Unless of course, they backtrack on what "Elite" is. There still hasn't been word on how much Elite will cost has there?

Elite is technically free out the box, it's Elite PREMIUM that will get you the free maps etc. I saw the words "for a limited time" on a site where I was checking prices. I'll message Robert Bowling on Twitter in the hope he actually reads and replies to it.
