This is a thread that will probably interest only a handful of people (and 2 of those are banned :lol, but I'm making a separate thread anyway to avoid confusion with the wrestling thread, and so general chit chat about the game can go here too.

For those who don't know, the best way to describe it is an FM equivalent for wrestling. You pick your company (WWE/TNA etc.), sort out your roster, book matches, feuds and all sorts of other wrestling orientated options. The game is free, and was released in 2002, but there are modded scenarios available for download. For instance, I'm currently using the latest one (Jan 09), but there are others ranging from the Invasion angle in 2001, to the start of the Attitude era and so forth.

There have been newer games (the TEW series), but these cost just a bit less than a retail game. There are much more options on them, but it also increases the learning curve greatly.

Best place for downloading the game/s, scenarios, picture packs and the like are bobinc.net, ewinventory.com and ewbattleground.com. Or you could request them in this thread.

Anyway, I'm going to use this thread mainly for posting my PPVs, and getting a bit of feedback. I'm one week away from the Rumble so should be done soon.

Done the Rumble now, didn't get the best of ratings, but it's still very much a work in progress as I've still got deadwood on the roster. Lot of hirings/firings already, but the PPV card was very similar to the real one.

I have one which I started from the EWR Battleground December update. I'm 5 weeks away from WrestleMania. Haven't played in a while, but next week I'll be finished my coursework, so will get the game going again.

Don't you just hate how the Royal Rumble match always gets a crap rating? I almost decided not to put it on the card, but I am one for tradition :/

As you can see from my card, a lot of the ratings were poor when they shouldn't be. I only added the Triple H interview as they always seem to be high percentage. I think I'll 'cheat' and make WrestleMania over two days, so I can fit in the whole of my card. It's going to be a big 'un. :naughty:

How do we sign people touring in Japan? I'm after Low Ki, but I can't obtain any sort of contract with him (whether it be open, written, non-wrestler etc.).

Batista is having a bit of an attitude problem because I felt it was hard trying to corporate him into a storyline. So I decided to turn him heel and team up with Orton and he became part of a stable. Oh! But Wait! A tag match against JBL(turned him Face :faceplm: yes I know) and Cena and miscommunication between Orton and Batista causes them to lose and thats where I am now. Im planning a fatal four way at Mania' with Cena, Orton, JBL and Batista. And ECW got a prime time slot and is now a full show, which is hard for me to complete atm.

Oh how exciting this gets.

I stopped playing this for a bit after I done WrestleMania. All I can remember is I brought The Rock back as a non-wrestler and signed Rob Van Dam to feud with Jericho for the WWE World Heavyweight (Which many wrestler's, including Jericho were not happy that I signed him).

Not a great deal. I think only a couple dislike RVD, and all they do is send you a message saying "I've just heard you signed Rob Van Dam. Tell me that's just a rumour!" and their morale drops a little bit.

Not sure what happens if it's people who hate each other though.

Pretty much. Some others give you a message saying it was a good signing and others that didn't like the superstar respond with the above comment but this time I have actually started a feud with Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho who disliked him. We'll see how that goes...

Yeah ive got the 'good signing boss' one a few times. The Rock seemed a popular character with everyone. I signed Brock and Lashley for ECW and nothing really happened.

Not that bothered as I would have only kept him 6 months max.

Bastard. I just made Triple H the WWE Champion by beating AJ Styles and the next day he admits to alcoholism. The only option was to send him to rehab and I ended their feud off screen which AJ wasn't happy about.
