Bought the game yesterday (finally) and am already sick of the amount of quitters online.

Agreed. Played my first games online last night, first one I was 3-0 up at halft time and the cunt quit, second one I was 6-1 up in stoppage time and the cunt quit.

Third one was close until his United team had Vidic sent off (it was 2-2 at this point) then I went on to win 5-2, half expected him to quit but he took it well, messaged me to say good game and I told him what had happened with the other games he said he hates idiots like that and that its just a game. Wish everyone would have that same outlook on it.

Last night, I played the most enjoyable game of FIFA...ever.

Me and a mate were Sunderland, playing against two other guys who were Everton. Due to Fellaini being a bastard, and a couple of mistakes on our part, we were 3-0 down at HT, despite creating chances ourselves.

They went down to 10 men early in the second half, so I set our tactics to attacking pretty much straight after. We clawed the game back to 3-3, and had one cleared off the line with a few minutes left or we would've won it.

To cap it off, they missed a sitter with pretty much the last kick of the game. A one-on-one hit wide. Good stuff.

EA Sports has told Eurogamer that a large number of the problems reported with FIFA 10 on the official forums have been addressed or will be addressed by a new patch, which should be out this week.

"We have already created one patch based on gameplay feedback after the demo went live, and we are now creating another one that will go out this week (fingers crossed), in order to give our gamers the best possible experience," a spokesperson for EA Canada told Eurogamer overnight.

We asked whether issues with Game Face, Live Seasons, Club Mode and disconnections were connected, and whether there was any progress sorting them out.

On Game Face and Live Seasons, we were referred to EA's public posts on the subject, which include advice on Game Face usability and a workaround for people experiencing problems with Live Seasons 2.0.

For Club Mode, we were told that problems were "to do with stat-tracking and should be fixed as a result of server-side fixes and some updates in [the new patch] that is going out shortly".

Disconnections, meanwhile, are "a PS3-only issue - caused by us using PSN 'Rich Presence' - so if you had lots of friends all playing FIFA at the same time it overloaded PSN code. Fixed in Patch 2, and by reducing friends lists [in the meantime]."

Manager Mode has also been a bone of contention, with many users reporting bugs, such as the AI flogging your players without asking. Whoops. EA told Eurogamer it's "addressing a number of these issues in the next update due any day soon. Notably AI selling your players without your permission, form, goalie assists, budgets and improvements to stability."

FIFA 10's general gameplay, however, will not be altered. "We're not intending to change any gameplay," he were told. "Our Metacritic reflects that part of the game more than any and we're very happy with the quality of the on the pitch action - and the overwhelming positive feedback from our fans."

That message got posted this morning and it says "this week" as far as the patch release goes so there's a small chance of it being released tomorrow.

And I thought as much with the PS3 dc's. Lots of my friends tend to be on FIFA 10 when I get booted from EA and subsequently PSN. Thanks Berry, BarnDoor, Phats, Miggy, Sweey etc. for that. :/

And I'm glad the MM issues have been addressed, although I hope we don't need to start afresh for those to take effect, for obvious reasons.

I love you.

And about the MM changes, it should fix your current game, but it'll not undo any changes you didn't approve

I still can't find my uploaded videos! I "uploaded" a brilliant interception. My defender was running back into his penalty box, facing the goal, expecting a ball to be played in front of him. Instead, the ball was played behind him. The ball was coming from the defender's left. He lost his balance, but as he fell forward, he stuck out his right leg, backwards at the ball and knocked it away. I probably haven't illustrated well enough, but it was a brilliant bit of improvisation. Great work from EA.

Your video should be in your My Profile page if you're sure it uploaded successfully on Fifa at the time.

Your profile page (very straight-forward to get on people's EA pages, just stick in their PSN at the end there)

I've noticed there's 1 uploaded video there, but it lasts no longer than a second... Were you aware of this video? Or is this the video which is meant to be showing this interception you speak of?

Can't think of anything else, really, hope you find it mate.

Thanks. I guess it takes a day for videos to load?

Yes, I'm pretty certain that's the match it was from, but I don't understand why it only lasts a second. I remember videos on FIFA09 took a while to upload, but it only took about three seconds for this video. I don't recall seeing any error messages.

Hmmmm, I uploaded a goal & a screenshot to get the respective Trophies the other day, and had no problems I checked 30 minutes, or so, later on and both were on the website, no problems. I've never had any problems with the easportsworld website, infact.

No error messages came up for you, so I don't know what to suggest to you, other than, just be patient and fingers crossed, it sorts itself out this time tomorrow.

If you're on the PS3 now, maybe try uploading another goal and then see what happens? If it comes up with no hassle, then perhaps it wasn't your lucky day :/

If it uploaded all the way to 99% then dropped back to 50%, chances are it failed.

Also, just had the most annoying game ever, the clearances in danger areas piss me off so much, the players have this insane ability to want to chest the ball down instead of just heading the thing, and this always seems to happen whilst he's surrounded by at least 3 opposition players. Also had 3 instances where my team-mate ran right past my feet and hooking the ball away from me.

This isn't a regular thing, but the game really seems to sense when you're getting really frustrated, so it places everythign it can to piss you off. I think it's the first time when I've turned the box off in frustration.

My greatest feat in life was achieved the other day, when I scored pretty much direct from a giant throw - ok, the keeper got a slight touch, but it was credited to me. And I unlocked the achievement for scoring from 30 yards during a match, which was odd. Which suggests you could probably score from them direct and the game wouldn't rule it out, unlike real life.

anyone else getting pissed off playing online?

The amount of people who go one-on-one with your keeper then just square it to a team mate for a tap in. This is as bad as the half way line goal from FIFA 09

Online Team Play is still hit-and-miss - when you get to choose what position to play you can immediately assume that the ones going for striker or forward are egotistical cocks who will never pass the ball to you.

Not so much a fault of the game as it is human, still.

This is onside am I right? the ref decided that it wasn't and ruled it as offside.

Why/how would that be onside?

And that first pic is fucking huge and taking forever to load, thus stretching the page to shit.

Ah shit, now I've just noticed you're in your own half. >_>

Should be onside, yes, because even if your players arm was in the other half, it's not a "legal" part of the body by which he can play the ball.

Haha well observed Baddar, but yes it was in my own half, I was clear one on one with the GK when suddenly the whistle goes and I'm ruled offside.

But the game will not take individual limbs into account unfortunately so I can only deduce that while in the real world it is well and truly onside, the game will see it as offside if the arm/hand/fingers extend over the line, which they do.

Oh, I'm not saying the game would take them into account, I'm just being a dick by pointing out the (current) correct rule.
