Out of curiosity, what do people prefer - having the whole map open from the start or unlocking parts as you progress a la GTA:SA?
I was thinking yesterday, that I actually prefer the latter... especially if the landscapes are quite varied as they are in SA.

I like it the way it is on V. It's unlocked but you need to explore for the map to be revealed.

But admittedly, it was always nice opening up a new area.

And also exploring a new area before you're supposed to and getting a few wanted stars.
My first venture into the countryside in SA getting cased by 2 police helicopters through the woods, looking behind as I'm running and seing them appear over the horizon is one of my fondest gaming memories.

In every GTA Series we see a different way to low the wanted level or to escape from the cops .. In IV it was running out of the cops circle, but in V u should keep distance from the cops then hide somewhere .. this stealth thing is an awesome addition in the game .. I remember how we suffered from escaping the cops in SA
especially when u enter a restricted areas in the map .. and yeah the closed map idea was great but here u should explore it by yourself ...

The new method to escape the cops is indeed very good.... hiding down dark alleys and turning your headlights off.

Just seen the most retard civilian death yet. Some guy pulling out of a petrol station drives straight into the pumps causing a massive explosion. Scared the shit out of me.

I couldn't find it online, but I guess u can find it in near Trevor's hunger .. I think I saw it once or twice but not really sure of it .. and u can left it with a special type of a chopper I think the one u used it during the mission

My game is acting weird tonight. When I put it on I get that little shirty cut scene but before the first load screen I'm just getting a black screen for about a minute. My ps3 is frozen at this moment but eventually it sorts it self out and loads the game normally. Can't seem to get online though and think it might be related. Bish is this the problem you were having?

Not quite, the game was fine at the start, then would completely freeze on the loading story screen after about 10 seconds. Weirdly, after I tried putting in another game and going online (signed into my EA account), I quit that game, put GTA back in and it was suddenly loading everything perfectly.

Restoring the file system on the ps3 has done the trick.

I've not long just unlocked Trevor, and doing an early mission which involves flying for the first time. To say it's a pain is an understatement, especially trying to land it. I've failed the mission probably 6 times now purely on trying to land the plane. The previous try, I landed it well enough, but the wing clipped the side of the hanger as I was coming to a stop, and it was deemed damaging enough for the mission to fail. It's actually quite a frustrating experience which is a shame given how scenic and beautiful the route is, it's just spoiled by difficult handling I think if I'm honest.

EDIT: Finally managed it. Hopefully from here on out, it becomes easier to handle which I imagine it will no doubt.

Completed it. Don't understand some complaints I've read that it was 'too short' or the ending was rushed. Just because there's no respite in the final mission (when you choose C, fuck the other options) instead of breaking it down into 5 individual missions, it's apparently a rushed game?

Will eventually replay the heists for the other option, but I'm not sure how it'll work. You choose A or B, then do a couple of missions to set things up (e.g. hijack a fire truck or a pest control van) before the heist mission itself. So do you need to re-do it all?

I let Friedlander get away

I don't find planes too difficult to fly, landing isn't too hard. Helicopters on the other hand.... :realmad:

That flying mission also took me many attempts, but that's mainly because I was trying to fly under as many bridges as possible; some of them being extremely low. I failed landing on the first attempt, but that's because I didn't see the landing site until late and rushed it. I got it second time round.

I'm not that far in the game, either. Trevor has just walked into Michael's home and are about to stop the daughter from going on 'Fame or Shame'. I turned off the PS3 for MOTD2, but I will probably be back on it tonight.

That took me about 20 goes to do. Completed the main story, but I'm still WOAT at flying. It took me about a year and a half to hook the submarine onto one of the choppers in a mission you have to do.

So, I finally finished the main story. Here are my thoughts:

Overall, I was happy with the story. It was a decent length, and like Haribo, I may want to repeat some of the heists (I went for the non-subtle approach for the last mission). However, one disappointing thing was that they didn't really make the most of the map during the main story. There were no missions that involved traversing the mountains, only 1 involving the sub, no freaking missions in the prison (seriously... is there any point to that prison being there?), and even the military base was underused. Perhaps they're saving some stuff for story dlc, which is fair enough.

Also, that pyschiatric profile thing at the end.... I'm sure it was completely wrong! For example, it said that I was unwilling to give to others or something, but I was always helping people in those random events. The game mentioned you can view this again online, does anyone know there? I can't find it.
