Starting to build a running game. Cut a rookie and signed T. Ginn on a one year deal just to really have a fast reciever who can get deep quickly. Also building a run game with Hightower who has turned his game round, wasn't performing at all at the front end of the season.

I have a love hate relationship with this game. Just beat the Falcons 28-21. 4th quarter 50 seconds left, RGIII gets smashed whilst he makes the throw to Garcon who is open for the 57 yard TD :smug:

RGIII scored a 143.7 passer rating (not sure how good that is?!) but Mark Schlereth loved it hahaa.

it was just a few years ago that running qbs had no chance in madden. I remember the PS2 days trying to scramble out with Kordell Stewart and it never worked. Vick changed that all. 143 QB rating is outstanding. Near perfect, which is surprising given your td/int ratio.

they do make qbs fumble too much. I will run Big Ben out of bounds because everytime I tried to go upfield he fumbled. True to real life however; watching him run upfield makes me hold my breath.

What is the superstar mode consisting of this year & is it actually more involving than the rather stale events from previous versions?

I'm still on the fence about getting this.

on the little side of things, I am glad they keep the pre-game blimp shot of the stadium. i get to see all the little places I took a piss while tailgating, smoked a fatty, listened to the street musicians, etc.

Still in preseason because I am sulking about 32 team control and not playing as much. In years past I would have worn that disc out by now.

not sure, they ruined franchise mode with Connected Careers mode that pisses me off; been playing since 1995 and the first time game modes have ruined the fun. Superstar is now connected careers, just like FIFA12's career mode. Probably better storylines but no control of other teams rosters, you can't create players and bring them in etc. It is a huge mishap.

I love the game for it's pure entertainment value, but all the off pitch player dealings etc. really do bore the crap out of me. Guess it's being English rather than American.

yeah, me too. But that is what EA did to us. they took us more into all the off the field crap, and locked us in to their dream world. I don't want the off the field stuff either, it is all about gameday for me.

when I play my season, I use the Steelers but when I play the Ravens, for instance, I choose both starters to match what really happened in that real NFL game. EA took away the ability to do that this year.

@apps, heck you are on week 8 already....what are you doing playing 3min quarters.

Haven't played the 'superstar mode' in CC but can't see it blowing my mind. Must be similar to the 'franchise' part of CC where players who perform well, complete tasks (For a WR it's things like Total yardage in a game, in a year or score a TD in the game etc) This earns you XP and you use the XP to buy packages which increase the players stats, more important stats are more XP but it does take a while to earn XP.

You wanna be careful who you create though as there's stories of people not playing due to being 3rd/4th string and getting no game which means no XP.

Started off at 12 mins for the first 4 games but now I've switched to 8 mins as 12 is too long and I don't have the time. Week 9 now at home to the Panthers.

2 things really annoying me atm are:

Can't change either playbook - So I have to manually set it before each game, I will attempt to change in offseason if not I shall retire and create a new Coach but you should be able to change it!!

Settings reset such as playcall style keeps changing back to Gameflow even though I set it as Conventional. Hopefully they start to patch stuff soon.

This game is really messed up.

Again with the fair catch glitch. This time I called the fair catch, Jim Nantz announced with commentary and my own player takes off running with the ball.

another: My RT gets called for holding on a first down play. CPU defense accepts the penalty so it should be 1st down and 20. but no, 1st down and 6 to go. WTF?

they fouled this one bad.

I cannot put this game down. week 13 21-10 up at the Cowboys. I'm going to tweak the sliders and make it harder as my run defense is too good. I've beaten some good teams such as the Giants too.

My Third TD was sweet. On their 20 yard line, RGIII Audibles a play action which opens up the whole right side of the field where he runs it in for a TD

21-16 now. 3rd and short so was expecting the run and Romo throws a 50+ yarder down the field to Witten (i think? lol) Cowboys failed on the 2 point conversion.

Still in the 3rd so not sure why they went for it.

And btw Iron I've not had any penalty/yardage issues

4th quarter 2 minute warning and it's 28-23. Romo is working it down the field then he is kind enough to throw me an interception. Time to run out the game clock I was lucky with that as seconds before I missed a 46 yard field goal that hit the post :doh:

I have been reading a funny set of events over at the EA madden forum. People are picking a player for Player Connected Careers such as a QB or Running Back and their team is trading for someone or signing a free agent and placing them #3 in the depth chart. So they have to watch the entire season from the bench and don't get to play

Apps, I am convinced you and I only score on each other on big splash plays. Have we ever had a long sustained drive that ends with a 1-yrd plunge by the running back. Even our ints in each other territory ends up with only FGs

On my Single player online Franchise I accidentally skipped the renew contracts bit and went into the next week, no warning or anything and I lost most my players and before I could even re-sign them from the Free agents they had instantly joined another team :| I'm that desperate I might sign Ochocinco lol.

The draft is awesome if you scout properly/smartly..Unfortunately I did not. I'm thinking about leaving the redskins and joining the Patriots Or starting a new League with the Patriots. I still haven't used them yet.

I only play one season and start Franchise over. Would do the same with CC because they of what you wrote and the CPU making older players retire even though they have not in real life. I am always using the most Authentic rosters.

I am reading that Gronk is unstoppable. Makes me want to cue the Steelers defense up to try and stop him some Saturday morn (well, morning here).

One small thing I hope they fix - we can't see the down and distance on the play call screen. You can only see it at the very end of the last play and don't see it again until after you call the play. Important to know if 3rd and 2 or 3rd and 4.

One thing I did pick up on was me not getting a 1st down when it was half a yard past the 1st down marker. Challenged the play and was still called short, watched the replay 4 or 5 times and I'm still sure I got the first down.

My first season match was Steelers vs Broncos. As Madden has done well over the past few years, Peyton was calling all kinds of audibles, the offense was shifting all around. It was fun because you had to keep re-adjusting your defense.

Added coolness was that EA must have brought Peyton in, because you could easily tell it was his voice calling the audibles. Nice move.

Played the Jets next, and Sanchez doesn't do any of that- so very real, but took away the excitement of the pre-snap reads.

It could be Big Ben's voice as well, sounded very much like him and certainly a different voice than Sanchez.
