That looks like a cheap figurine, Sir Barry. How large is it? Is the store giving those away, or is it produced by the Creative Assembly?

It looks somewhat cheap indeed, monsieur Muad. The store tags it as 'exclusively available- only here!' so I don't think CA made it. I have began a search for it: http://www.gpstore.co.nz/Games/1515494.html (Collector's Edition looks good by the way) and apparently there is some talk of a figurine, but on the enlarged pic it doesn't look at all like the one I posted earlier - perhaps the Americas have a different fig.

The Battle (massacre) of Otumba.

The stand off

The Spaniards are uneasy at the sight of so many Aztecs

With good reason...

The native horns and drums sound the order to advance

The Hispanic musketeers prepare to fire their dreadded 'boom sticks'

'I said hold your fire, you fucking burros!' - "No way, Jose, dey are too close for comfort!'

'Antonio! Give de order or we're gonna ram our ballestas up your culo!'

'Okey, okey! Fuego!' - 'Dey are upon us, you idiot!

'A mataaaar!

'De headens are too many!' - 'Shat up and die like men!'

In the meantime, Cortes and his Conquistadores have to deal with a detachment of aztecs that were hiding in the woods behind them. 'Por Santiagooooo!.

To be continued...

I've got an AMD Athlon XP 2600+, 512 RAM and a Radeon 9550 (256MB). :(

The units are set to highest, the grass at high and the vegetation at medium, which is the reason the trees look so 2D. All other graphics are set to the highest possible setting, as well.

Gents, the game in my comp is nowhere near as good as it can look with a proper PC. I'm not even using Shader Version 2, which means that the unit's shadows are of very bad quality, the enviromental are non-existant and i can't enable bloom, but i have to run it like this in order to achieve sufficient fluidity.

Naturally, this game would look twice as pretty in a machine with good specs. I highly recommend it, for those of you that like this sort of thing.

Well, it looks good anyway, and I've got similar specs so I'll think about buying it.

I'd love to get this but my beast PC is as useful for gaming as a small chocolate hamster, not because of the specification, just my graphics card's cooling system is fudged, and I'm too lazy/poor to see to it getting fixed. Then of course I'm also too poor to purchase the game, but that of course will not always get in the way! ;)

I got more ram and a much better graphics card and the game plays extremely well and the landscapes look beautiful. My english campaign is going well. Loving battles and the new crusade style. The inner citadel really make taking a city a world different to Rome's sieges.

There are some areas that need attention. The diplomacy needs tweeking as consant allies are breaking their alliances within a few turns making gameplay slightly annoying at times but a patch is on the way along with a data extractor which helps out the modding community greatly

Original?, you're naughty! :D

You two should download the Demo first.

Unfortunately, I know I won't be able to play it until I sort my GFX card issue, see it's a relatively high range graphics card which means without the cooling it'll roast if I play this. It's annoying as my specification pisses all over what's needed yet I still can't play it regardless of whether I manage to aquire it.

I wish you luck, man.

BarnDoor! I got the game yesterday! It's amazing! I had the demo on triple buffering, but when i was testing the game, and when i use anisotropic filtering i can use Shader 2 with very little performance issues. This means that i can check bloom, reflections and medium shadows!

It still is a little jittery, so i'm going to need more RAM but the prices of RAM have doubled. Someone please put me out of my misery!

Hahaha (i'm so giddy!). You're right about the diplomacy issue. I am playing as the English, because i'm a fan of the Long Bow, and the French decided to attack me at some point. So i retaliated in full, blockading the Bordeaux harbour and annihilating their invading forces. Then, the Pope asked us both to stop hostilities for seven turns, or face excommunication, and the fools attacked me, so the Pope gave us his blessing and told us to kill them all because they were Christians no more...That was pretty gay. In other aspects, diplomacy is better though, as they try to get better deals, so you can actually go back and forth until you reach an agreement.

What did you do with the Scots? I married one of my Princesses to their heir and forged an alliance with them.

I could sit here for hours, detailing my first impressions, that's how good this game is!

The scots are still alive. I left them alone after annexing edinburgh. They are rotting in Inverness till i see fit to deliver the coup de grace to there shithole of an army.

I am at war with Portugal, Milan and Denmark. Castille made peace, France bite the dust as well. I was excommunicated but the Pope died so it was null and void. I am allied with the Moors, HRE and Sicilly. Things are going well but i really need to a new pope in charge as he is a dane and favours the cunts. I can't even ask for a crusade as he hates me so much. I feel an assassins blade in his throat might ease my troubles with Papal authority

Do it. In my drunken state, killing the fat, Danish, pig lard eating cunt, in his sleep, sounds like the best course of action.

I think i'll go loot a couple of French provinces before i sleep.

I'm sick of these pansy fucks. They keep rejecting our generous proposals for a cease fire. I'm afraid i'll have to exterminate the lot...

Yes i have noticed the AI factions don't really like ceasefires. The only time is usually when they send a princess. The amount of times i gave 1,000 florins to the pope with him saying almost but not enough to be allowed back into his flock really began to piss me off after a while.

The Pope i was dealing with was happy to make an alliance, in exchange for our extensive map information and trade rights. Maybe the fact the we are the richest and had achieved so many victories against the Frenchies and rebel forces, helped sweeten the deal.

I like how your people's reputation rises due to all these factors. Nice touch that.

Brilliant game still, playing it for some time now.

I decided to start over as England, tried to rape the Scots in the North after you take over York, although the Pope isn't too happy with that so I'll get them and the Pope later on. You already start off with Caen in France, so they don't pose much of a problem and if you get Brussels(if the Danes didn't already) it will only give you more opporutnities.

The Pope seems eager to start Crusades though.
