PES 2011: Football Evolved

all very valid points.

Isn't this teaser video just a variation of last years?

Seems like it.

If they actually deliver then fine but their inability to apologise for not producing once again with PES 2010 irritates me. Like the game or not, they blatantly lied about certain features (for example, 360-degree movement).

Hmm. How about ditching PS2, PSP and Wii until you can get the core platforms right?

At least half of that was promised for PES 2010 and wasn't present.

Fancy commenting just once in our feedback zone then?

We were told those days were over after PES 5.

Enhancing something that didn't actually exist? There was no 360-degree movement in PES 2010. Have they not worked that out yet?

Can they fix the stupid speed when using a 16:10 resolution?

I couldn't be bothered going further but you can see where I was heading.

post of the year...i'm not falling for konami's shit again

Yeah as if we won't notice they just tried adding it at the very last second since fifa got all the hype when they announced 360 degree dribbling.

This is all new territory for me... this time last year I was waiting for news on FIFA10 (like I did every year for the past farking age), but a lot has changed in a year... PES2010 simply blew me away compared to FIFA10... there is so much to like about this game and finally I have seen the light!

But I can imagine all of you guys who have faithfully followed PES through the high's & low's over the years would be used to the KONAMI promo/spin... but it's new for me so I am frikken excited!! Anyway I am pumped - pity that there are so many months to wait...

as its been confirmed its in game by Konami. Im looking forward to it. Its a teaser, so doesn't show much but shows a lot more smoothness than PES 2010. I love how people write it off already. I suppose an understandable lack of confidence based on past iterations. But I base my confidence on the ps2 versions and the belief that they will return to form. Also the ball finally looked separate to the player, this has been missing since Pes5. Footplanting also looked good.

I'm very pleased with what I saw in that trailer, and no matter what, I will always buy the game. I always have, and will always continue to do so.

Also we must now wait to see what Fifa 11 has on offer, but I feel it will be close this year.

Close?? Even PEs2010 is a better game than Fifa10..
And with todays announcement and improvements , it will undoubtaley crash Fifa to the floor.. King is coming back in 2011.. People who doesnt have any clue about simulation-football will accept the PES lead this year..

I'm totally convinced by the press release and teaser.. Thank you Konami for listenning to your fans...

Totally the same man :) love pes always will!

For all the doubters there is still months to go there is no point in judging after 1 video (which isn't even a gameplay video!) I agree with we have been treated unfarly in the respect of game build up news but sure :)

People say they have had enough of this but yet every year they are back slating it, which tbh is a lot bullshit! IDC if I have hurt peoples feelings, but if you have had enough then don't say anything and let us real hopeful and optimistic fans get hyped up!

I certainly understand everyone here that say things like "this little clip convinced you?" or "Its going to be crap again".

After so many years of decline I don't trust KONAMI anymore either , and it will take something special to convince me.

However , watching this trailer I do see alot more smoothness and real life alike movements , hence I will closely monitor the updates that KONAMI will publish , specially awaiting the gameplay video , and if that will look good then I will try the demo.

All they have said is that 'this is the biggest improvement yet'. And the video is just an animated CGI video. it's not necessarily the final gameplay! I won't believe 'SHIAAAT', until an actual in game footage is released and the demo! Even that will be shockingly bad if compared to last year!

While the long list of improvements is good, the comments reacting negatively to it is suprising. NO ONE can say that PES hasnt improved on its recent installments. 2010s better than 09, 09 was better(slightly) than 08. As long as PES keeps improving/evolving, i will keep supporting/buying the games, as will those who come on here to complain every year.

I'll just advise people to take everything Konami tell us with a pinch of salt; and don't cream yourselves over their inevitably excellent looking still shots. The first true indication of the game's capabilities will be when the demo is out.

Correct. 10 is better than 09. Both are better than 08. Unfortunately they all pale in comparision to 3, 4, 5 & 6...

Do they though?

At the time they were better, relatively speaking than PES 2010, but i've gone back and played PES 4 and 5 a fair few times since PES 2010 came out and they are nowhere near as good as PES 2010 is now, in my opinion of course.

Of course you'd expect that though as they've had nearly 5 years to improve it, but that's a moot point.

I thought 2009 was better than 2010 and 2008 was better than both. Perhaps we look for different things in a football game. 2010 had the best modes, but 2008 was playable.

Do they though?

Yes they do. I do still own and frequent PES 6, simply because I have been underwhelmed by any of the new gen versions. OK, they are prettier & have some decent improvements, but the key is gameplay. It's here that the older versions win hands down.

Perhaps we look for different things in a football game.

And therin lies the problem. There will never be a true agreement as it's such a personal thing.

True but its like comparing cassettes to cds. Both were ok in their day but technology moves on. if you had pes 08 in in 1998 people would be going crazy about it. Konami have been reluctent to change their ways in previous years but have recently shown an improvement and are starting to reach todays gaming standards through listening to the fans. Fifa went through a similar phase, they asked fans for help before they reached the height of fifa10.
