Does anybody have PSN+? I'm quite tempted by it. It's been steadily improving with it's free content.

So, you want to pay in order to get free stuff? :hmm:

Yeah, but you pay 50 quid for a year's subscription, and you can get MORE than 50 quids worth of free content out of it. Plus you get discount off other DLC etc that you may want to buy.

Just teasing. I used to pay for online when I had the 360, but there were no perks, that I can remember. I was considering paying for PSN+, but I'm not entirely convinced that the connection will be that much better.

It's not worth it. 90% of the free content they give you is something I'd have no interest in playing. Or a pointless hour game trial of the likes of Prototype & Assassin's Creed. And losing all your content as you cancel subscription is a piss take.

If you could choose your own content, I'd be first in line. But you can't, so I'm not.

I was tempted by the PS+ service, but having paid for 12 months gold on Xbox I really didn't feel like additional outlay.

Don't use the PS much for gaming really apart from the odd living room guitar hero sessions with friends & for playing DVD's. Though did get Killzone 3 yesterday. Still in it's wrapper at the moment though.

There are a few PSN games that they have for free. Plus there is the whole "cloud storage" thing, which seems quite useful if you're worried about losing your saves.

I don't play games as much as I used to, so I'm not going to subscribe. The PS3 at the moment pretty much acts as a media player. Watching movies off the hard drive, blu-rays.

If they offered cross-game chat (a la 360) as part of PS+, I'd buy it, and cloud-storage is a neat idea.

One catch with it, however, is that the service is only optional for game developers, so if they don't want their games being a part of it, they don't need to be, so there could come a point where you couldn't save a game you really wanted to have "in the clouds" so to speak.

Okay chumps and chumpettes, I've got a fat 40GB PS3 that's just been fixed from having YLOD. Do I trade it in for a slim one before it happens again? Do slim ones get this terrible cancer? And do they overheat like every xbox fanboy seems to say?

Real answers please.

The 40GB ones are old, so I'd say that it's got a chance of happening again. So if you can afford it, I'd say you should trade.

I haven't noticed that at all.

I'd get rid mate but I'd hold for the Sony Price cuts. They plan to release PS3's for £189.00 in the near future.

I've got a fat one and a slim one (one's in UK other in Africa). The thin one has got hot one time and turned itself off, made a bleeping sound and then went off, maybe this is a new feature? The fat one gets really loud sometimes (i.e. the fan) but has never turned itself off. I don't know if that is useful information to you, but anyway.
