Football Manager 2010

Thinking about playing Crysis or Half-life 2.
Not played any of the decent games on my gaming rig since I got my new PSU.
And the PC was not working for a while as the PSU had given up working.

Alan Wake. My pre-owned copy also had a very nice surprise in it. An unused DLC download code!

Only 2 chapters in so far... lovely cinematic stuff, slightly clunky shooting/torch work & some damn awful faces/lip sync in the cut scenes. The story, incidental narration and sense of dread when the fog closes in though, really do make this game stand out.

Edit: Attacked by a bulldozer :erm: Bit shit as ideas go.

Playing Final Fantasy 8 on my ps3. Downloaded it, FF7 and Vagrant Story a while back but never got round to playing any of them.

I'm on disc 2 and 15 hours in. Loving it. The most enjoyable FF I've played!!

Madden 11. Franchise with New England Patriots. Currently 3-1-0 with my first game being a loss against the Jets :|.

i downloaded the demo and had no f'ing what i was doing while playing defence. Offence is easy enough to figure out.

I suppose it's cuz i know nothing about the sport and its rules, but i just didnt know which players to take control of, how to win back posession....

.i really wanted to like it as well because the presentation is top notch.

I find the rules can get a bit complicated but when playing defence i usually choose to take control of a player in the defensive line(the line of players closest to where the ball is 'hiked'). Then just then try and bash my way through and sack the quarter back. The team on the offence have 4 attempts to move the ball 10 yards but usually if the team cant get the ball 10 yards in 3 attempts they use their 4th attempt to punt the ball a up the other end of the field.

Defending is hard but if you choose a decent play for the formation the other team is using its usually alright, however if you pick the wrong play it can go drastically wrong.

I do the love the celebrations and stuff:

I've always considered getting a Madden game, but have never gone through with it. It does look excellent. This might be the one for me.

I've got it too, its brilliant.

So much depth its unreal, every single player is licenced! Loving my franchise with the Jets, unbeaten after 4.

Vanquish - PS3 Demo

OMG this game is insanely awesome. It's like someone took gears of war, put in robots, turned the speed up to max and mixed it up with bullet hell games. The demo is only available on the US store at the moment, I assume EU is incoming, but after playing it, I am very impressed.

Visually stunning, so much going on all over the screen, without any noticeable slowdown. The game play is very much your run, cover, shoot repeat style gamplay, but it is so fast paced you barely notice. Easy to control, great fun rocket boosting around the areas dodging huge missiles and laser beams....

Very much looking forward to the full game!!

I was never a huge fan of Gears Of War mind, I don't think I even completed the first one, probably, can't remember though. I hear they're making a third, talk about milking the franchise eh? The same goes with BioShock I guess.

I've just finished playing Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 the other day, completed it to 100% and gained every achievement. I think it's the first time I've ever done that with a game, but it's definitely testament to how enjoyable the game was. It's currently on eBay now, and if it does relatively well I will have only lost maybe £2-3 in buying it and playing it for a month. :) Trading games in is strictly for dumb fucks.

I've been playing the Mafia II demo a bit as well. I really do enjoy it, the simplicity of it. I know the story lasts only around 10 hours, but for me, that's probably a weeks gameplay. I'd maybe only lose around £2-3 again purchasing it, playing it and reselling it so I imagine all will turn out well. I won't buy it for a while yet though if I'm honest, as I've still BioShock 2 I've got to play through, especially since BioShock Infinite looks to be out quite soon. It's just such a creative and artistic franchise, the 50s decor in an underworld utopia is fascinating, but I know nothing will top the first BioShock. If there was one game I could play now having never known the story or played it before, it would probably be the first BioShock to be honest.

Thank you for reading.
I'm currently playing Batman Arkham Asylum as I left it unfinished (about 90% done) when real life took over and I went back to finish it and found all my save data had vanished! Gutted. I've started again though and it really is a very good game.

EDIT: I should say, 90% of the story rather than 90% of everything.

Yeah, it's a brilliant game. I think I only got to around 40% before, like yourself, life took over. I've now got Arkham Asylum and BioShock 2 to play, I might even go back to Forza 3 which I haven't played much. I quite enjoy going through all my iTunes albums now and rating them as I go through the songs individually, so playing Forza would give me the chance to do that with the music on in the background. That and I like the idea of racing classic cars.

I heard a rumour that a new Test Drive Unlimited was being made, I really hope this is true. No matter how average the racing was in the original, there was nothing like the interior detail and cruising around Hawaii.
