Let me think about that one.

No.

If I was going to buy a football game this winter it'd be FIFA, then probably Football Manager. PES is running third. But I've got by without a football game in 2 years and can last another 2 most likely. They don't measure up to the highest quality games on offer atm.

I'm considering turning to the darkside and buying FIFA. It just shows how far PES has gone backwards.

Yes. I've found I can only stick to sports games. PES, Madden, NHL and trying to like GT5. The adventure games just don't stick with me and I never finish. Don't like having to find some object clue hidden in a wall or under a trash can. If you do finish there seems like no point to go back and start again. Buying another shooter/adventure always seems like same game different hero. My point is that I don't mind shucking out money for a new sports game every year for the roster update or in the case of PES to keep up with the great option files...Sports games keep me coming back again and again. Perhaps I will rent 2012 and FIFA 12 and compare this time. I like licenses, or option files, as much as game play.

Rent it and copy it on my hard drive then take it back.

That's naughty. You should be giving the guys at Konami as much money as possible..... Lord knows they need it to fix all the crap thats wrong with this game!

I'll probably buy it straight away. I usually get one of the football games, when they come out. Recently it's been FIFA, but, this year, I've really got back into PES, so I'm swaying towards buying PES2012 straight away.

Maybe, but if it's not pes, then there's nothing because fifa is broken to a point where fixing it won't help and EA aren't even trying to fix it.

But it depends if pes is really as good as they're saying.

If it's not pes, then there are other great games this year like assassins creed revelations and driver san francisco.

Waiting....
I'll probably wait for the price to fall to about £25, which it has done pretty quickly for the last two years. I'd so love for the gameplay to be good again, because the Master League is one of the greatest things ever.

Does anyone else there should be a name change? I was thinking about it yesterday, how daft "Pro Evolution Soccer" actually sounds. It just doesn't sound professional IMO. What does it even mean?? "International Superstar Soccer" kinda made sense, even when they changed it to "ISS Pro", and "ISS Pro Evolution". A minor quibble, I know.

Seems like most people have voted the same as me, ie not being able to break the habit.

Winning Eleven always seemed like an appropriate title. Pro Evolution Soccer always reminds me of a "Super Happy Fun Time" like Asian saying that they think would be cool with westerners when it is not.

Yeah, I'm going out to regulate condition with the boys in the top pitch before Saturday's game.

They have improved their English in recent years, but PES has been guilty of some woeful literal translations over the years.
