I've really enjoyed it so far. Agree with alot of what Shaun's said about it being smoother than '12, and the attitude era mode is fucking boss. Gonna play through that for a bit before starting Universe me thinks.

EDIT - I'm downloading the patch as we speak. It must have appeared sometime after about six tonight. Don't know what it'll include, but it's pretty big (600+MB) for a first patch less than a week after release.

Attitude Era mode is very good and it's a lot of fun, but it also is incredibly lazy when you think about it. THQ/Yukes couldn't come up with a good storyline for their game, so they just recreate from a past successful era. Of course it's Attitude Era so we'll like it as we reminisce through all the moments you have to complete. But I see through those bitches.

The same shit with the counts. Yes, I downloaded the patch.

Animal's body is at critical damage. His head is a light damage. Guy is kicking out at the one count. I can't deal with this shit anymore. I know it's going to piss me off even more during Universe. This one thing is ruining this game for me, which sucks, cause it's good everywhere else.

What modes/match types/settings are playing? All I've done is attitude era so far, and haven't had any of that shit.

That would irritate me quite a bit I would imagine.

I love the theatrics of wrestling, and like in WWE 12, I'd want to create a believable match, whether it's through wearing down an opponent's particular limb prior to a submission, or a 30-minute jaw-dropping match fit for a Wrestlemania main event. Either way, a match is likely to have several 2-counts, and it just helps create a sense of realism, which for us older fans, probably matters just as much as simply 'wanting to beat the other guy'.

I wouldn't mind you guys just commenting every now and then as you've been doing regarding the issue, just for further updates if possible. WWE 13 is a game I would definitely like to purchase, but quite like PES 2013, and Black Ops 2, I'll be holding off for a short while, and these are exactly the reasons I do nowadays...

I am playing on the xbox and I seriously have never had this problem. I am being very honest here.

Anyone started their Universe yet then? A satisfactory first Raw I think. Bummed at the fact that it starts you at the beginning of the wrestling year, so I changed the first PPV for Wrestlemania 29, and we'll work from there. I'm thinking Punk/Rock/Cena main event.

Will start Universe probably later today. Finished everything in Attitude Era now. Was a fun mode.

I've had a couple of freezes, but not bad considering I've been playing on it pretty much constantly for the past week.

Haven't had a wrestling game in years so thinking of picking up the game, how would you rate it guys? Is the best wrestling game in recent years?

Despite the adverts, it's evolution rather than revolution. Yes, there's alot of great stuff in there - Attitude Era's going to be a lot of fun for anyone that watched wrestling in those days, and Universe is going to keep me busy for a good while I think. But if you've played any of the recent WWE/SvR games, you'll already be more than aware of what's wrong with it.

Ah. Well I got incredibly fed up with the AI reversals on WWE12, on the hardest level guys like Cena would regularly reverse your finisher attempts. It drove me nuts. 3 times in one match once

The thing I hated in 12 was that the AI could reverse your finisher, but it was fucking hard to reverse and AI finisher. That's been balanced out a little more this year.

Don't get me wrong, it's a solid game, best yet of the series easily, but for me THQ just show a profound lack of understanding of what pro wrestling's really about, and how to recreate in a video game. For a 'sport' that's entirely worked, it should be the easiest one to recreate in a game. They just don't really get it.

BELIEVE

Got WWE 13 for Christmas. So just began playing it tonight/this early morning.

I've only been playing single matches on Easy at the moment, to get to grips as much as possible with the controls again - so that when I do step the difficulty up, as well as the match length, I can really recreate the cinematic and storytelling process of real matches.

Anyway, on just my third match in, I think I encountered a glitch which effectively ended the match in some way. I was Big Show, facing Santino (I wanted a squash match essentially, using the WMD in the process). Anyway, after about 30 seconds of grappling and punching, Santino successfully holds me in a grapple position.... and never lets go. He didn't perform any further maneuver, and nor could I actually reverse or fight out of the grapple. So I just had to quit the match following it. :(

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Thanks.

Just had a great match as Dolph Ziggler against John Cena on epic mode. It probably lasted about 17 minutes, including spells of control for each, along with reversals and a german suplex to Cena through the announcer's table.

We had both built up a finisher, and it was essentially who was able to utilise it first at this point as the battle had undoubtedly taken its toll upon us both. Fortunately, I was able to bust him open bleeding, damaging Cena further right before hitting the Zig-Zag for the 1-2-3.

I was honestly hoping to end the match with the Superkick that I've given Ziggler now as a finisher, but it was not to be in this match.
