Not really to be honest, and 99% of the general public wouldn't either so they can't be expected to know this, because ultimately you're not receiving the storage you're mislead to believe is there.

I have indeed Joel, I think I'm on the 3rd chapter now. I've not played it for a couple of days though, but I've not really played Xbox the last few days. I've just been downloading the new dashboard and checking out everything on it. Changed my avatar now so he has on a cheesy Christmas sweater.

Alan Wake is a good game though, it's nice to see developers taking risks and being more creative with games as opposed to simply churning out a never ending series. Always nice to try something new and it's a rewarding game. I'm having a tough enough time as well on Normal so no chance I'd survive Nightmare difficulty.

Yeah, it really is a good game. Visually it is nearly flawless. I think I'm on the third chapter as well, but haven't really played it since FIFA 11, SvR 2011 and now Black Ops. Plus, I only like to play it at night. Try to give it a spooky feeling

Only thing that annoys me is the amount of times you have to fight the guys from the darkness (no idea what their offical name is).

Alan Wake is a fantastic game man. Original story, good gameplay, and has a great feel to it.

This is one of the main reasons i'm gutted about not having an Xbox, i'd love this on the PS3.

It is a good game but I'm stuck on the bit just after you go to lovers leap (is that what it's called?). You get attacked by about 6 guys and one big fucker.

I like the tv show that you can catch on various portables throughout the town, like the episode where the guy has a machine which makes him invincible so he puts a gun to his head and pulls the trigger but nothing happens. Then the guy in the classroom catches the plug with his foot and next time he tries it (if I remember correctly) he blows his head off.

The lighting effects are great and the enemy are quite disturbing. All in all I'd say this is more like an interactive movie rather than a game.

On another note, I loaded up the sims last week and on a loading screen it informed me that if I wanted to improve the games performance and loading times I should install it onto my hard drive. Is this correct as I currently have no games installed? What does this actually do and is it worth the time and effort?

Thanks Messiah. I think, looking at that, it's worth it as it apparently reduces the noise from the console which sometimes sounds like my hoover. The loading times do seem to come down a bit too I see.

It took me ages too. Usually I'd find something else instead but I'm glad I eventually got it.

I do the same with Dead Space too, I have always wanted to play it but whenever I go in Gamestation I come out with something else instead and promise to get it next time.

I'm just installing Black Ops as we speak after reading through that article. Thanks a bunch, have some rep for it too Jin.

My Xbox 360 usually sounds like an aeroplane when I'm playing so I'm definitely looking forward to the difference it'll make. It looks like it's only going to take about 5 minutes to install too which is good time. I'll install PES 2011 later too.

Alan Wake is a really great game, I never finished it mind before selling it. I kept becoming too distracted by playing Black Ops and PES with the newly installed option files so I just decided to sell it and recoup some money before it's value dropped significantly. I still maintain that it's one of the best and most creative Xbox 360 single player stories of the last few years mind.

Alan Wake is brilliant.

Black Ops is shit. :D

Yeah, a lot of people seem to think Black Ops is shit, but that was to be expected. These are the sorts of people who thoroughly enjoyed Modern Warfare 2, and while it was fun, it quickly died out as hacking overthrown the game and skill wasn't particularly a necessity with all the gun attachments and overpowered perks and kill streaks.

Treyarch/Activision have struck gold with Black Ops and took it to it's more basic roots with the primary focus being upon the actual gameplay exerience with less emphasis on external factors such as overly powered air support the continuation of kill streaks to rewards. Not to mention the combination of perks and weapons that saw the majority of people using very similar set ups in order to even the playing field. With Black Ops, there's not real huge advantages and gaps in comparison between the weapons and set ups and so the online matches are hugely competitive, but on a more mature level.

Black Ops is definitely the best COD game since the original Modern Warfare (COD4), and if Modern Warfare 3 is anything like 2, then I can imagine Infinity Ward being on the receiving end of a hackathon with little care to fix it.

PS: On another note, I'm looking forward to Lego Pirates of the Caribbean. I've enjoyed the movies so far, and I really enjoyed Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 last year and even completed it 100% which is something I don't believe I've ever done with another game, not that I'd be able to remember that far back if I had done anyway! I'm sure it'll be a brilliant puzzle adventure game, it's just a bit of a shame that there's no trailers or footage of it yet I don't believe - it's released in May this year according to the internet.

I have played all the C.O.D. games except Black Ops and to be honest I prefer World at War by a long way.

The set piece battles and build ups are amazing. My only complaint with it, and its similar in most war games, Brothers in Arms for another example, is how it takes two shots to kill a tank wherever you hit it. It would have been more realistic to make it almost impervious to a frontal assault but more vulnerable from behind but thats just me being picky.

Alan Wake was probably the best 360 exclusive game of last year, apart from Mass Effect 2.

Ordered BFBC2 yesterday too, looking forward to trying out the Vietnam expansion.

That is why in this instance your opinion counts for nothing

MW2 for all it's shit is still >>> Black Ops, IMO.

It's got to be easily; Black Ops & COD4 >>> MW2 & WaW.

I'm not going to argue to high heavens though as it's quite pointless isn't it, no one will ever change their mind when it's comes to preferences. It's not as if anything is factual here.

So is there any games in particular that people are looking forward to this year?

Personally for me, off the top of my head, I'll be looking at:

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean
Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 (if it's actually released this year!)
Test Drive Unlimited 2
Skate 4 (I didn't play Skate 3 as it was merely a rehash however I hear this new Skate game is in a completely new city/environment which should be excellent for the series)
