Definitely, i really think that game is the only logical step in terms of playing a great football game post PES 6, EA have actually payed homage to pro evolution by taking so many of their ideas, this in itself shows pro evolution was superior over the last few years, but fifa has taken these ideas and taken them forward with other great innvovations.

Honestly i have yet to play a game which gives you so much control over the way you dictate play.

I think konami should take some of ea's ideas, especially with the weighted passing, cos i dont really wanna have to go back to just pressing a button and having it done for me.

Too true. Stealing each others ideas is a crucial part of healthy competition. Steal the other companies good ideas, add your own. EA have done this and released a gem. Konami have clearly overlooked what EA have been doing and have paid the price.

because that FIFA has been catching up to PES is something that i've been hearing every year now and made the mistake once of buying into it last year . it was a waste of money.
i won't visit the thread you told me too because i don't hate PES09 and i refuse to read all the pages just to understand you , that would be a waste of my time.
i played the demo and my question to you just simply was : is it that much better compared to the demo and last year's effort but i guess you fanboy eyes didn't catch that.
i asked you this because the possibilities in PES are endless and FIFA always bores me after a week.

All i can say buddy is that i fell that the possibilities in Fifa are endless and Pro Evo bores me. You have full control over what you do with the ball in Fifa. Eg. You can use manual cross to attempt to chip the keeper at his far post from a tight angle near the corner flag. You can throw long balls about in ANY direction you wish. You can aim a throughball in ANY direction you wish. You can aim a shot in ANY direction you wish (although at goal is normally the best idea). There is a mulitude of tricks available, and SO many animations that add that extra bit of excitement. Basically you're only limited by your own skill. Pro Evo's generally automated passing (manual controls are very basic) and lack of animations hold it back.

I have been playing Konami Winning Eleven for 10years. I love this game. But this WE2009, I just can't deny that it is a stupid game. Passing awful!! the AI running is awful!!!!!:realmad::realmad:

i only played fifa one in 2005 but i hear all this improvments their doing.. i think i will buy it to compare.. you only buy pes because of the licenses?

That's true, in FIFA the passing is so good that the Passing Stats are quite pointless. But I'm sure they'll look into it, having used some of Konami's ideas already, I'm sure they are aware of the fact that PES is still better with the Stats.

I think FIFA should keep the same passing system, but the Stats should determine the accuracy of those passes.. which is something that isn't that noticeable in FIFA09. Any decent passer can easily slip a killer pass, and this is something that in my opinion is limiting FIFA09.

The other thing limiting FIFA is the lack of Feeling and Responsiveness, it doesn't compares to PES6 or PES5 in terms of feeling. FIFA is looking fairly good, but still doesn't feels the part.

But if EA can manage to make the Stats relevant to the gameplay, and then also, add more feeling and responsiveness.. we'll see how that turns out.

As for Konami's PES, I've said enough already.. PES09 is a disappointment, it doesn't plays nor feels like PES. I think Konami's intentions are very clear, don't expect any significant improvements for PES 2010.

PES09 is one of the easiest versions I've played, poor replay value, it feels as though Konami has effectively turned PES into the casual gamer's game.

I have been supporting Winning Eleven since Winning Eleven 6. I leave FIFA and change to Winning Eleven. Almost all my friends do the same, almost at the same time. We love this game so much. The game is so realistic, and the game play system was a good one. We all love to play Winning Eleven.
BUT, UNFORTUNATELY, We all bought the latest Winning Eleven 2009. To be honest…we are all very disappointed and feel angry. The game just have so many many many stupid flaws.
1) The Passing now is so awful. VERY OFTEN, you can’t even successfully pass to a nearby teammate. WHY? This is very annoying. This is so UNREALISTIC! Sometimes, it give us impressions that all the players in the game are retarded. Can’t even deliver a normal pass. The passing is always not to the direction which you want or it ALWAYS FAIL to deliver the ball EVEN to your nearest teammate. ALWAYS the teammate must run to another direction to pick the lose ball, which is supposed be delivered to his feet!
2) When an opponent player are running down the flank near the line, ALWAYS the AI will automatically send my side back and center back to run towards the opponent player WITHOUT I pressing the square button (team mate pressure)! Why? When we only press X button, and the cursor is on the nearest player to the opponent, Why the other teammate still running to the opponent’s direction like we had pressed the square button?
3) WHY CPU ALWAYS SLIDE TACKLE WITHOUT OUR COMMAND!!!!!??????? WHY?????!!!!!
4) THE Running is so stupid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY AMF ALWAYS not in the position to attack??? When we have the chance to launch a counter attack, ALWAYS, the strikers are standing too far always from all the teammates! Usually, in all the previous series, when we successfully halt opponent’s attack and turn it into a counter attack, we will always play a fast passing game in order to create a deadly counter attack, eg. (just only one of the method) Defender gets ball (near to own penalty box) , pass to DMF or CMF (at center midfield), then from DMF or CMF to AMF (further midfield), then from AMF to striker. All the passing need to be done in very fast way. BUT IN 2009!, ALWAYS! Front line attacking midfielders are always not there, and yet, the strikers are either IN OWN HALF(dreaming, thus not ready to counter attack!) or there is no midfielders at front line ready to receive ball and make the final pass to the strikers!!! The gap between the nearest teammate to the strikers are CRAZY!
5) THE game just stop even when you are attacking AND you already reached the opponent’s penalty box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! I almost THROW my controller!!!! EVEN CRAZY is one time, the opponent’s defender make a stupid pass to my striker, and you know what, the whistle blows! =.=!!!
6) Shoot! Hahaha…… I really can’t believe that even the top striker in the world just always shoot direct to the goalkeeper or ALWAYS SHOOT WIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha……Sad that Konami make the game stupid rather than develop AI……..
7) CAN ANYONE TEACH ME HOW TO DELIVER A PROPER FREEKICK????????????? CAN KONAMI PLEASE TEACH US??????????????????????????????? PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?!!???!!!

We all feel so sad, disappointed, angry. We can’t believe that KONAMI launch a product which have so many flaws.. Believe me, I never complaint about Winning Eleven. We all love Winning Eleven. Thus, we urge KONAMI to really conduct research to your latest WE product, WE 2009. Know the problems and not to repeat in next game! If you would want to know more, if you care, you could just search in this forum to find out more of the problem exists in this game. SERIOUSLY, we are shocked, still unable to believe that KONAMI has launch this game which has so many flaws, which has KILL it’s beautiful and realistic game play. No more fun when we play it.
Please, If you still love us, please don’t repeat same problem. Don’t force your fans to abandon you. We change from Fifa to WE. We can also change from WE to others or back to FIFA, which we really do not want it to happen. Don’t take the fans loyalty as granted.

At the end of the day there are two football games out, all games have their faults. If your getting annoyed while playing pes2009 then try playing fifa 09. You will end up pulling your hair out,believe me. Just be thankfull that with pes 2009 your playing the most accurate representation of the game that there is, even with it's faults.

that's always been my feeling too when i compare the two.
FIFA just isn't football and although it's presentation is incredible, the basics for a good football game are just not there.
i just can't understand why some people don't notice that.

FIFA has its flaws, PES has its flaws but in the end when u compare the two then PES represents a much better football game so you should except it the way it is or choose FIFA which is worse ,so that won't be a logical choice.
