Words can't express my disappointment in this game. You can't play the main game in co-op mode - instead they try and be clever and give us a really shit separate co-op game, which feels cheap and tagged on. Plus the split-screen has a shit black border that seems irremovable.

A massive step backwards.

At least you can play with two people on one system online :)

Hows the actual game?

The actual campaign I haven't played, but it looks fantastic, which is why I'm so upset you can't just play that in co-op. The co-op mode they've got feels rudderless and boring.

I'm the opposite in that I'm glad the co-op tasks are different from the main game.

Sure, I'd love to be able to play the story with a friend locally, but I don't mind settling for the single player campaign, and then other stuff with a mate.

I wouldn't mind if the co-op was any good but it just seems really unimaginative, basically like a multiplayer game with bots.

After being able to play through the story in co-op, as Barn says, it's a big no-no to miss it in the sequel. The co-op missions that are there are glorified online bits, not really engrossing enough, but with a few others online could be good. With just 2 people though, they soon become repetative. Random spawn points for enemies would've helped.

y would u want to shake the controller anyway to reload, that takes the piss id rather just press 1 button like normal FFS. but thats just me :)

A better way of replicating a real gun?
Its a useless gimmick if you ask me.

Completed the campaign the other day; it was superb from start to finish, better than the first. Just a tragedy there was no co-op for it.

I thought there was a co-op for it??? In the trophies in the XMB thing, you can get trophies for doing co-op type stuff???

Co-op missions are seperate and have their own 'stories'.

As Barn said, it is a tradgedy as the co-op story in the first was good.

I remember at one point in the first where you're both in a jeep, one driving, one on turrent, and you come across hundreds of those spider crawling Chimera. I accidentally jumped out but they all decided to chase after my mate and left me alone. When I eventually started to catch up there was a big hill beneath leading to an open field and I could just spot my mate in the distance getting killed by a gun-wielding Chimera. As soon as he died all the hundreds of crawlers turned their attentions from him in his jeep and came straight for me. I absolutely shit it.

Does anyone still play this online? I haven't started playing the single player yet but since I've now completed CoD5, I'm looking to start another game on the PS3 and I don't fancy starting Metal Gear Solid just yet.
