If there are a lot more match types (Elimination Chamber, Money In The Bank etc) then that is awesome news.

Edit: I'm coming up to Survivor Series in my game. After that is Armageddon, which marks a year in my game. Woohoo!

There's over 700 types/variations of matches, I believe. I'm not sure of a full list, but the ones you've mentioned are in, I'm sure.

And even if they aren't, I think you can add new match types with the editor anyway.

EDIT: The Wiki write-up for it...

Total Extreme Wrestling 2005

The sequel to TEW 2004, Total Extreme Wrestling 2005 (TEW 2005) was released on October 6, 2005 under Grey Dog Software. A demo was also released in advance on September 29, 2005, allowing the user to play one game month just like previous demos. TEW 2005 included some more new features. Advance booking was one example which helped to promote upcoming big events. Televised shows also improved, bringing both competition to the shows with non-wrestling shows along with multiple television deals around the world for one show. The pay-per-view feature was now very similar to television in that there's now a list of pay-per-view providers which the user must make a deal with to get their pay-per-view provided. A momentum meter was also added to the wrestlers to bring in more realism in that if they give great matches, cut good interviews and participate in angles, it will increase and thus gain more overness. This helped to prevent the user from booking the same over people all the time and expect good ratings. The booking also improved in that the match purpose feature from EWR has returned and enhanced. The user must now talk to road agents about how the match has to be set up, including ways of putting people over, burying a worker and the way an actual match needs to be performed. TEW 2005 also made more features customizable with its new editable statistics for angles, storylines, locations and injuries. Its angle editor consisted of many different types such as interviews to beatdowns to celebrations and uses up to six people to participate in various roles. The storyline editor takes these angles and places them in an order the booker will need to comply to. The storyline editor was created by Phil Parent, using Georges Polti's book The Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations as an inspiration. Also included was the "grades" feature. Instead of having an exact view of the stats each wrestler has along with changes, a more realistic grade feature was instead added to make the user rely on instinct for crucial decisions.

As announced by Adam Ryland himself on the Grey Dog Software website and Forum as well as EWBattleground, TEW 05 will become freeware on July 1, 2009.

Woah...Booking might take forever in TEW 2005. But I will love it of course. The fact that it seems so specific sits well with me.

Yeah, it's no secret that many prefer EWR due to the simplicity of it, and didn't bother purchasing TEW.

That's why we get real-life updates for EWR these days and not TEW. Updating a game like TEW takes far longer.

Because it's free, I'll probably never go back to EWR once I get playing TEW though, especially if a new update with current rosters/champions is released, and released every couple of months or so.

You only will need one update though. Don't keep changing between games, keep one going on for long.

Oh I know. It's just I don't always have the time or motivation to play these games and it'd be useful to get a regular update.

The version we'll be getting is fully patched as well, so any annoying bugs that got in to the original game won't be there. :)

I think Adam must've got fed up of people badgering on to him on EWB about a newer EWR release with new match types etc. He told me before that he isn't even sure he has the EWR code anymore.

For him to give us a once 15 quid game for nothing though is great.

Fantastico news.

I can see myself becoming addicted on a Football Manager level-like if it's as good as people say. I remember trying the demo a while back and it was a bit of a faff on, took me about 30 minutes to book one show, but that was with fake names and rosters so I had no idea what I was doing basically.

I'd rather not start one with current WWE though, so hopefully someone is working on a "Monday Night Wars" mod, or something similar right now. Worst comes to worst, I'll have to start with TNA I suppose.

Ric Flair retired the Nitro after Starcade. It was an emotional farewell as he won back the title he lost the night before to Chris Jericho. Which prompted Eric Bischoff to come out and reward the title back to Jericho. :ninja:

January will also spell the end of Hogan and Savage's WCW careers as Hogan I'm releasing and Savage I'm letting go as he only has a month on his contract. Hogan is in a feud with Jericho. Savage is jobbing to Nash.

Which will leave me with only four "major" faces in Sting, Mysterio, Steiner and Goldberg. The last two have only just entered the upper-midcard too.

I also just bought up ECW. Which has prompted a roster split with ECW gaining the previously untapped, undeniably awesome talent of Horace Hogan and Stevie Ray. I've given ECW my third show, ECW late night, which, as the name suggests, is a show that goes out late at night. This leaves me with 6 segments for a roster of 30 or so.

Remember lads, TEW 05 is released as freeware at some point today. I'm not sure how big the file is, but still...I'd expect the GDS site along with EWB to have a lot of downtime today, so it'll probably be easier to get tomorrow or Friday.

If I know someone who gets it, I'll up it somewhere and post the linkage.

I expect to take about 3 months just getting used to the options.

I should really get cracking on EWR. I haven't been on since I finished Summerslam.

Nice one Baddar.

Well I've reached one year in EWR. It's going well, but the market is 23% of it's peak, so ratings is not very high and money isn't coming in like it was. But talent wise, everything is going nicely. I've called up Chirs Cage and Hade Vansen from development and have placed them in to a tag team. They both have speed in the 90's, but Cage has technical and charisma in the 90's also, so he will be the breakout star of the team. They both are in 40's for overness though, so they will team for a while.

So far I've unified the tag titles and I've also unified the womens and divas titles. At Armageddon I'll unify the IC and US titles and at WrestleMania 26 I'll unify the WWE and World titles.

At the end of December, all the new students graduate from camp and go in to development, so it'll be cool to see if there is any guys who stand out stat wise.

I'm not sure if Adam's actually giving the ok for this to be put up/putting it up himself, but he's currently around on EWB posting in the donators forum, so hopefully it won't be too long now. :)
